Bought black ballet flats/wedges and a top

So I decided to look for some black shoes on my way home after work and I found these in the first store! The brand is Ecco and they were marked down from 110€ to 50€. They had them in the sale pile with all different kind of shoes and it was only one pair, just in my size. They are comfortable and I didn't hesitate long.

They are a bit more 'solid' like my other ballet flats, they have a tiny wedge and a real grip sole. They are comfortable with bare feet, but I guess I'll wear them more with tights when it isn't hot.

What do you think? Do you like them? They were such a lucky find that I'm bent on keeping them.

The other new thing is the top I'm wearing. Also not returnable because it was final sale, but I like it and I'm still needing some more tops for summer.

That top is perfectly beautiful on you and you will NOT be sorry you bought those fabulous flats. They will go with practically everything in your wardrobe (see they already go with your jeans and black skirt). The possibilities are endless. So glad you snapped them up for a good deal. They sound comfortable and practical for walking too! Great job!

Thanks Claire. I don't think so either - I wore my last black ballet flats a lot, I had to throw them away last year because they were worn out. It really was a lucky find!

Astrid, those are perfect purchases. I love the flats and you will love them, too! Eccos are wonderful shoes. They generally fit me very well (not 100% of the styles, but many) and are well made and comfortable. And the top is cool, summery, in your colours, and a boho-ish print. Great shopping.

Thanks Meredith. I've heard good things about Ecco too, but I never bought any Ecco shoes because they are too expensive for me at full price. But I'm so happy I found these on sale. Good luck with your search, I'm sure you'll find the perfect pair soon!

Astrid, I love both purchases. Your taste is very close to mine...I love classics but with a twist and both of these--the little straps on the shoes and the modern paisley design on the top--really tickle my own personal style-bone! I think you'll find yourself wearing these a lot this summer and into the Fall, as the top looks great under a jacket or suit blazer. Well done, especially on the super price for the shoes.

You're right, I think I'm going to wear these a lot. The top year around, because I do a lot of layering in the winter, and the shoes in fall and spring as well, with tights.

Astrid, congratulations is all I can say! Those Eccos look like a real steal! I've got friends here who hunt down Eccos at any cost when they travel, and their comfort and sturdiness is legendary. These also look very elegant and with just enough detailing to make them stand out among a bevy of black ballet shoes. (My friends usually choose more 'gearish' versions, somehow. But if that's the norm for Eccos, you struck gold all the way.)

Love the paisley top too --- great jewel tones in an intricate rendition of a classic boho print. I always enjoy interlocked or nested paisleys even more than spaced out patterns. Love the way their curvy shape echoes your curly hair. And you always wear blues and greens beautifully, so we're seeing a win-win-win here!

Best of all, both buys look very *you*!

Thanks Manidipa! Yes, Ecco makes a lot of gearish shoes, but they also always have a few models in their range that are more elegant. I love the detail on these too, much more interesting than my last pair that was just plain black. I agree, the top has all of 'my' colors. I love the pattern too and you're right, it really echoes my hair a bit, I didn't even think about that. Btw, I found the ikat top in some more colors. I wasn't sure about them though, so I didn't buy one of them. One had a black background with a cream colored pattern and the other was white with a light brown. I'd love to find it in blue!

Thanks Shevia! I guess these will be worn mostly with skirts and dresses. When it's cold enough for jeans I normally prefer to wear socks and other shoes.
