I've been trying to focus more refined but comfortable footwear that I can wear for long days. Have in mind all the parameters and everything.

I tried on some Born shooties--one style was more tapered ( no points for pointy- ness, though) and felt ok but a little too confining.

Then I saw the Rissa, not even a new
style. As soon as I put it on, my feet started singing the Hallelujah chorus.
They are a bit chunky, they are only almond toe, the toe box is deep and there is a bit of that Born uptoe thing.
But my feet voted and now these are in my closet.

The good news is that they push out several pairs of other shoes - shooties
( as in Una's purge post) that I was alternating because each had slight fit problems for my fussy feet, and/ or more square toe, etc. And they have a 1-1/2- 2" heel( depending on how you measure) which is how i was hemming my newer trousers on a leap of faith that i could maintain PPL's there. They help
me see that if a shoe though a bit
clunky is SO comfortable, then that fills a spot in my shoe capsule for the go- to item for difficult days.
I also realized that at heart I like the less confining shootie over a boot( gasp). Absolutely will still buy and wear short boots, but I like the ankle freedom.

Does this mean I'm hopelessly stuck in
Clumpy land? I can still use work footwear that is not 12-hour worthy but each of those has to earn its keep by
filling a very specific outfit/ capsule need. Instead I think it's focusing my
shoe capsule on getting the best items
In each category.
