boots - yay or nay?

These boots don't have a brand name, any thoughts?
I don't have any winter boots, so I'm trying to go cheap and buy from ebay. (Don't laugh.) These are leather uppers, 16 1/2" total height with 1 1/2' heel height.

They look nice. How are the measurements in the calf? I mean, do they seem like they would fit you? Can you return them if they don't work?

Love these and really... what does it matter if they don't have a brand name? I don't care much for a brand names but I DO care about the quality and about what is "me" and what fits me nicely plus what makes my heart beat faaster because of the joy of a great purchase! Getitng them from ebay and cheap (let substitude the "cheap" word with "inexpensive", shall we? :))? Even better! It sounds like you have a great taste and you are a very practical person (re purchasing lovely and inexpensive - lets smile again at the sound of this word - stuff). I always get a great sense of satisfaction when someone compliments my look/clothes and goes "wow! must be nice to have the money to buy this!" with me smiling/nodding in return with: "yes, thank you, nice indeed" with my mind going "OMG, I am so proud of myslef! If you only knew the price I paid for it!"

They look nice. How do you think you'll wear them? They're a little on the rugged side, something I wish I had thought about when I bought my boots. Now I'm in the market for a sleeker pair. But that's just personal preference and I still wear my rugged pair too.

I've bought shoes and boots on Ebay in the past. You can get good deals but of course you never know about fit and comfort. So the only drawback to not knowing the name brand is you can't try them on in person and you can't be completely sure about the quality. Does the buyer offer refunds?

One nice thing about these boots is they have adjustments up top and around the toe.
