boots for spring

I have been looking for a light coloured boot to add to my spring wardrobe. I saw this today at Aldo's. http://www.aldoshoes.com/ca-en.....terbein/37
The problem is l like medium heels on my boots, this one is flat. Also, this is over the knee.

THe other option is this. http://www.aldoshoes.com/ca-en.....0-begen/37. it has a little bit of heel and not over the knee but has buckle details.
Keeping in mind, that we have long winters and very short summers and my feet are always very cold, which one should I get?

Looks like the first actually has a 2.25" hidden wedge, from the description. I like the look of the second better, though, style wise.

They both seem very tall. How tall are you? I can't wear boots over 16" high but I am very petite.

MG, I am 5'3". the first style is over the knee boot and I am just wondering if petites can pull this off. I searched other threads and saw YLF'ers of all sizes rock this boot. Isn't it funny how the styles available in US and Canada can be so different? Where is US do you live? May be that is a factor.

I think petites can pull it off--Laura comes to mind with her Frye OTK's. That being said, it is a lot of boot when the wearer is on the petite side.

Meredith, I am looking for a light coloured spring boots or booties. I saw these on sale today so I thought I will give them a try. I have ordered both now and will see when they arrive. i can always return them to the store, if I dont like in person.
