I put on my shortest skinnies to test the opening's widths best. I will try other pants if deemed necessary to compare. Do we like either bootie better? Neither one?
DV is the silver heel and BCBG are the snakeskin textured suede. Thanks!

I'm loving the BCBG ones....and will work with many items, totally drool-worthy! Not a fan of the silver heels, but I have kind of a poison eye for those, tbh. I do think you'll rock either style..... which are comfiest?

The BCBG are comfiest . . . but I can tell they've been tried on before, which isn't that big a deal, but when you're spending over $100 it kind of bugs me. And they have 50% off stickers inside on the footliners so I kinda know I'm getting screwed . . . but they're sold out. Trying to get past those 'issues' and just view the shoes on my foot and if I like them lol.

Mo, I'm sorry to be a wet blanket, but both pairs seem to gape just a tad too much on the ankle. I have grown intolerant of that type of fit though - so take my opinion for what it is worth to you.

I have low volume feet, ankles and legs like you do. I get the problems with bootie fits. May I suggest the ones I got? They fit much closer on the ankle. Perhaps you don't like the style, but I'm posting it anyway - for completeness.

yes, Angie, I don't have a LOVE reaction to either. More of a, hmm, this one works a bit better than that, lukewarm sort of thing :/
I tried with jeans and it's a bit better but not perfect. I thought going with a short shaft would cure the flower pot effect. Drats!

Of those two I prefer the DV ones with the silver heel, but I have to agree that neither one is quite right with skinnies. I commiserate, because I have the same problem with the ankles on my booties, and I'll second Angie in recommending the Fidjis. They're the only ones I've found that don't gape like that.

Angie, could you please tell me how high the heel of your Fidji's is at the highest point?
The description says 2.5", but "official" heel height is usually measured at the middle of the heel, so the actual height is more.
That is one of my biggest problems with the fashion industry: why not measure heels at the back so we know how high the heel really is.
I'm 5'10" and don't want shoes that are advertised as 2.5" and are really closer to 3.5"

I'm with Angie, I'm afraid. They both look a bit too flowerpot to me. I have the same kind of feet and ankles and perhaps counterintuitively I find a higher shaft (covering up the whole ankle bone) tends to look better. There's still a gape but it's somehow not as obvious when it's up higher. Or try something with a cutout front.

I really like the BCBG snakeskin bootie. they are both pretty but I like the more graceful heel. So hard to photograph. But you need to feel they fit well and like them. Both pretty booties!

Actually, measuring heels from the back doesn't work either, Minnie. That way sloped heels are much higher than they actually are. 2.25 inches is right in the middle on these Fidjis. 2.75 inches from the back. There is no way I would be walking in 2.75 inches daily. But these booties are comfortable, because they are lower.

I am afraid I must agree with Angie. Although both styles are awesome, they look way too large on your lovely, delicate ankles. The "gape" seems overly large and not intentional. I say wait until you find a better fit… especially since boot season will be coming to an end very soon in Florida.

I don't think this is the aesthetic you're going for, but I'll share for anyone else looking at booties for skinny ankles. I got these after trying on literally a dozen pair of booties (all purchased online - it was a crazy credit card cycle). They're super comfy and b/c they're almost more of a shootie, no ankle gap. I think the lacing helps, too. Lots of compliments from friends and super comfy despite the heel. They're the only heels I'll keep on for my walking commute.

Mo, I prefer the BCBG over the others but am not excited about either one. I think that on the DV ones, the chunky heel exacerbates the FPE for some reason. You have a slender frame, and maybe that heel is just too overwhelming? You really wish someone would make chunky shoes that were a little more proportional to people who have smaller frames.

I tried these on at Nordie's the other day, and they did seem to fit my small ankles quite well. They were very comfortable. The SA told me that he had just sold them to a mother who had brought her teenage daughter in for her first pair of heels. The mom wanted to know what would be a comfortable heel and still be fashion forward for the daughter.

But like ATLynn said, Mo, these might not be your style. I think you are looking for something with a chunkier heel?

If you decide to keep a pair, my vote goes to the BCBG snakeskin pair. But as you've pointed out, they aren't perfect. These were my favorites of the 3 (?) pairs you originally posted. I was really hoping they would be "the ones."

I think if you don't have an immediate need for them (and I think you said you didn't yet) then you should wait. A better bootie will come along for you. Although the BCBG ones in particular are nice, the fit issues will eventually bother you, I suspect.
