Booties for narrow ankles?

I've been looking to add some flat/low heel black ankle boots for a while. Something very minimalist with refined toe shape, zip not laces, no other clutter, and affordable. I've tried on quite a few pairs, but every single pair has had Very loose ankles that rub when I walk. Just measured my ankles and they're 8 inch around.
I'm considering these in Finds. They look more fitted than many. Anyone have them, or similar?

I have very narrow ankles, too (just measured them, same 8") and totally sympathize with the situation. I have found that what often has a chance of working are so-called "sock booties", booties with elastic insets, and higher shaft booties in general. Unfortunately, also that higher priced shoe brands (Stuart Weitzman, Aquatalia, etc.) are more likely to work.

I am not familiar with those booties. I have attached some that have worked for me (older tough), but those may not be the types you are looking for.

I agree that sock-style booties are the absolute best for this issue. Not only do they fit nicely to the ankle, they tend to be soft — there’s no stiffness to rub your ankle or shin.

I think there are some Eileen Fishers on the Nordstrom Rack site. I think a search for “stretch boot” might turn something up.

I have a few similar pair of blondos ... No idea how big my ankles are lol ... But they are super comfy and don't rub uncomfortably anywhere.

I have sock booties in burgundy, and love them. I'll go that route if needed, but I figured leather is better in rain.

It's just this year that this has seemed extreme as far as the wide ankles :/

I have very small ankles too (7.25 inches!) my DH calls me "Little Ankles" and a physiotherapist (younger than me female) who was helping me with knee issues was distracted with my small ankles she got off track for therapy "Your ankles are so small!" I am not a petite person at 5'6" and "medium" in clothes or US 8/UK 12 it just makes my ankles look even smaller. <sigh>

I often look like I'm standing in a bucket when I wear booties. I am very interested to see what others suggest as I, too, am looking for booties and snow boots!

I like those Blondos suntiger because they are minimalist. The sock booties suggestion from others is good too!

Yes to sock booties, no to the idea that leather is better in rain, especially if buy waterproof boots. I have these waterproof suede boots and they are years old and they still look good. Years ago, I also had a pair of suede boots that were just sprayed with waterproofing spray and they also looked good for years.

Fun for the day ( still in a lockdown) = measuring my ankles. 7.5 inches. I think Joy’s would be smaller.
I don’t seem to get too much of a problem finding ankle boots that don’t rub? I guess I wear socks with them and pants over, mostly?

I don't have a solution but just wanted to say that I sympathise. I don't have particularly small ankles (9" - never measured them before this thread lol) but, because my calves are right on the cusp of straight & plus sized (15.5"), I still get the annoying creases & gathers that rub around my ankles because they're a little disproportionate to the rest of me.

Edit: I like the idea of sock boots, but I want boots that can be worn both bare legged/ with hosiery & over trousers. Elastic gussets that run all the way down to the ankle might be the best bet?

Was thinking about that. In most cases I want the pants over the boots, as I've been gravitating to wider leg styles again. I generally like my leggings and skirts with tall boots instead.

Ahh, I see - that makes sense. I like wide legs but typhoon season has just reminded me how impractical they are for my summers

@Stagiare Fash Obviously I'm not ST but thanks for sharing! That's why I don't usually buy tops from Kettlewell, because of all that polyester & viscose that they use...

The Colorful Standard things are way more casual than I'd ever need or want to wear. But I have considered buying white cotton or linen pieces from dharma trading, or even consignment, and overdying them.
I'm actually redying my bleached Kettlewell skirt as we speak- wish me luck!
