Booties and skinnies in winter... Help!

I am struggling to style my booties with skinnies now that it is cold. My really short ankle boots like the DV Joust still work, but the Rag & Bone Newburys are too tall and wide to go under skinny hems but look bizarre with skinnies tucked into them. I need to post some visuals. Am I stuck wearing them under wider legs or with dresses and skirts?

I have the same issues - I'll be watching this post for suggestions. I can't seem to make my skinnies work with anything but tall boots.

Could you roll the skinnies just a little so they hem hits at the top of the boots?

I could but the bare skin is an issue in winter and I feel tacky with socks showing. I need some visual inspiration...

Looking at Lauren's post with her moto ankle boots, I wonder if the key is ponte skinnies that fit really tight at the ankle with no bunching. My skinnies bunch at the top of the bootie when tucked in but won't go over the boot shaft.

I think having a really close fitting skinny or jegging would solve the issue. I think the right socks wouldn't look weird if you rolled a skinny to above the boot cuff too.

I just looked at some old WIW's--I think I must have had this problem too because I wore mid calf boots almost exclusively with skinnies last year. Will be keeping an eye on this thread.

Quick ?: Do you wear your Lynnea's with socks?

I wear them with socks when they are up. Folded down I wear barefoot or with socks depending on temps.

I'm looking at pins and I think the key is a tight ankle fit so it doesn't look like a cankle where the pant is spilling over the top of the bootie.

Hmm. I tend to wear my jeans rolled just a bit with my Newburys. I wear dark grey socks that match the booties and don't worry about them showing just a bit, mostly when I'm sitting.

Although I also seem to be renewing my love for straight leg jeans. Those solve the problem nicely by falling nicely over the tops of the booties, but they still show more of the shoe than a bootcut would.

I think I'm going to try rolling the jeans up to just above the boot and wearing cute socks that peek out. I saw a girl on the subway wearing something similar, but with heeled oxfords and striped socks.

I was thinking of tucking my jeans into cute socks, which would then go over the edge of my skinnies, as a bookend-y sort of thing. It hasn't been cool enough here yet to be concerned, but that's my current plan of action.
