Hi Ladies, Well I'm scared to speak it out loud but I think my boot capsule is complete:) These Hush Puppies "Black Onyx" booties arrived Monday night (and so did my complexgeometries dress... But that's another post...it's awesome btw) and I can't take them off. The are exactly what I wanted. Height is perfect, super comfortable. They are more rounded in the toe than they looked on line but I'm ok with that. Sorry no outfit photo, slept in, but took a couple of phone pics of the shoes at work. Sorry bad lighting. This has been a great exercise for me in waiting for the the right thing to come along. They are also the most expensive shoes I have bought in a while but definitely worth it. Quality is lovely and the just feel so good on:) Thanks for looking. xxxDeborah

Shevia, I know. I remember Hush Puppies from when I was a little girl being shoes for old ladies (in a very stereotypical sense) but it appears they have moderned up over the years.

I found a pair of Hush Puppies black loafers at DSW last month. I thought to myself, naah, but then I tried them on and they are heaven. Like walking on clouds. Totally a fan of this brand now! Who knew???

Oh, I have had a pair of Hush Puppies (love the brand name) textured cognac leather pumps in the early 90-ies, and loved it so much. These are so luxurious looking, and I know they are comfy:-)

Ha - I am with you on the Hush Puppies image of old (and the Grosbys). I think the beauty of these will be the leg extension too. Wedges do that with skirts too if they are not too chunky from side or back view, which these aren't. They look more delicate plus the top doesn't look like ones that create cankles. I have been lamenting the disappearance of the shiny RM Williams short riding boot but I will certainly look at the HP range now. Happy, delayed gratification and wardrobe enhancement celebration. No guilt purchases.

These are fabulous Deborah and I may have to track them down in my size. My black wedge Blowfish booties have finally died after many years of service and these would be a great replacement.

I love the short boots and tights look. I want to make a skirt this winter (first one for many years) and wear it with tights and docs. We'll see!

Now, may I ask, just out of curiosity (I won't 'tell')- for a ball-park figure on the number of booties in your ankle-height booties capsule?
I am feeling a little guilty about my- pick a number between 4 and 6- collection, and I have no excuse because I am a SAHM.

This is a good demonstration of the PPP principle. I'm impressed at the restraint you showed in waiting for the right pair to come along, something I intend to do from now on. I too spent money on my Clarke's and don't regret a cent of it. They are very like your black booties and a mainstay of my winter wardrobe. Too comfortable for words.
Deborah, apropos the Adelaide mini meet up, thank you for your response on my thread. It would be so special if we could spread the net a little wider and some day have an Aussie YLF meet up. Melbourne, maybe?

Lyn since you asked so nicely... 10 pairs of ankle booties .... I just counted and I'm a little surprised (and a touch embarrassed)! I think my capsule is complete! Lantana an Aussie meet up would be brilliant. We had one about 18 months ago I think. There was a post on it. I will find it and link xxx
