Hiya...newbie here!

I am not only a YLF noob, but a style and fashion noob. I've never worn much more than jeans, tees, and sensible shoes. Now that I'm expanding my wardrobe, I'm discovering that I don't know how to dress!

Simple question I'm sure - but is this boot height okay with pants? I'm only 5'4" if it makes a difference. (please ignore the unmade bed an poor self photos!)

Hi and welcome! \I think they work fine with skinnies and should work with skirts and dresses too. They are almost knee-high on you.

I think this is a good height for you. I think they make your legs look long and slim compared to a higher boot.

I'm shorter than you and bought a similar height boot. To my eye, you have accomplished what I sincerely hope I accomplished! I would feel like Puss in Boots (and not in a good way) with pants tucked into a knee lenth boot, because it would really accent the shortness and plumpness of my thighs. I think this is a nice compromise for us both. My only comment is about the color of the boot. In my case, I got black boots to put with black and dark denim slim leg pants/jeans. My thought was that the lack of contrast was a good thing, that the eye would just sort of skim over the leg/boot area, and not get stuck. Your tan boots will be good for medium wash denim or khaki or brown tones, but will be very contrast-y if you get some new dark skinny jeans.

This boot height looks fine to me because it isn't hitting your calf at the widest point. Cute slouchy boots! I second Sveta in thinking they'll look good with skirts/dresses too.

Thank you all for the input and the welcome! I'm seriously stoked that others think this was a good choice. I spent a great deal of time trying different styles, colours, heights, etc. before choosing these. Now...to create some outfits!

Welcome, and I'm very impressed by your first foray into boots! They look great! Me, I just.kept.trying to make really tall boots look good, and even the hubs told me I needed a shorter boot from the get-go. You must have good instincts!

I think those boots look great! Slouchy boots give you a lot of flexibility in height and should be able to go with skirts or skinnies.

Joining in with all the others - the boots are great! I had an 'a ha!' moment when I saw them, because I think I need shorter boots to tuck skinnies into (I'm only 5'3 and a bit!).

You look great in skinnies, too.
