Bomber Jackets For Casual Work- Yay or Nay?

Hi,

The post on bomber jackets really caught my eye and I see a few fun one's on the Nordstrom website.

What was the general consensus on these? Are they ok for a casual office or are they more like a sweatshirt and best for weekends? I often pair blazers with jeans for work and was wondering if I could swap in a bomber jacket for a change up?

Yay-They will work for jeans for work
Nay-Stick to weekends for this jacket style

These don't seem all that casual that they couldn't go to work on a casual Friday or even with trousers on other work days, but you would know best what is acceptable in your workplace.

I think these are great. I wouldn't hesitate to sub for a cardigan or knit blazer. It's nice to have a non-knit topper alternative. I think as long as the print is tame, it would be a great casual look. I love all of the ones you posted--especially 1 and 3.

I think any of these would be fine for a casual workplace. I wear a dressier top underneath like a fine knit, but these all seem casual appropriate. But then, my office might have a looser definition of business casual than others.

The silkier versions look plenty dressy to me. And if you wear them with a pencil skirt and heels - QUITE dressy

i love them, and i think depending on what shoes and layering piece they are paired with, they are totally work appropriate

I'd say 'yay', with the proviso that more 'sporty' details might read more casual (#2) than ones that avoid those and tone down the collars and cuffs (#1 reads least casual to me, with the bottom band's absence making a huge difference).

I like Angie's idea. As long as they aren't too casual looking, they should be okay at the workplace

I've been eyeing that black one with the floral sleeves - which surprises the heck out of me! I would definitely pair with a black pencil skirt for work, or even over top my black sheath dress. With black trousers for a more casual work day and then again with jeans on the weekend - could be a real workhorse item IMO.

I agree with Shannon that it could be a piece that gives you lots of mileage, both for workdays and on weekends. It would definitely be fine in my office.
