Boise?

Is anyone familiar with the Boise, idaho area? My DH is heading there for some work meetings soon and I am thinking of tagging along and checking out the area.

We were there several years ago. I thought the downtown was really nice and vibrant. It was attractive and there were lots of restaurants and shops. I live in a similar town in terms of general size, climate, elevation, river running through downtown, and having a college, and thought Boise was nicer, but our location (nearer to SF) was better.

I would go if I were you. It might be quite chilly though, especially compared to what you're used to.

Thanks, JAileen! I will definitely have to bundle up a bit (although it's currently thunderstorming here in the South Bay right now, so fall has finally fallen). Any recs on particular shops, restaurants, etc.?

I couldn't give you any specifics, sorry. I just remember thinking at the time how much nicer the downtown was than ours, and that I wouldn't mind living there, except for the great distance to drive anywhere else.

Thanks. Yes, it does seem a bit in the middle of nowhere, but that'll be a nice change for us for a few days!

If anyone else has any Boise tips I'd love to hear them.
