Just thought I'd make sure...I think I'm an hourglass with pear tendencies, though I did an online test once and got inverted triangle (that has to be wrong). I actually first took this pic wearing leggings but the flash resulted in a picture in which you could see the color of my underwear so I used these cropped (horrible length) active pants instead...

oh, and I'm never sure, am I short waisted, long waisted, or neither? I'm actually leaning towards neither (I saw the "two hand rule" somewhere, and I match that, though I have small hands) though that cami makes me look a little bit short waisted due to its short length and the color contrast between it and the pants.

I'm no help in the body type department, but I wanted to chime in about your shoulders ... they're gorgeous! Would you consider your shoulders and arms to be one of your best features? I hope you show them off!

Maya and cciele, the reason why I think hourglass with pear tendencies is that as Angie (and some others) define it, an hourglass has the same width shoulders and hips, which I think I do. The pearishness comes from the fact that I have most of my weight in my thighs.

Anne: I don't really have a favorite body part, I guess if pressed I'd say I like having a narrow waistline. Fortunately I've never really had hangups about body shape--sure it crosses my mind sometimes that I'd prefer to be bustier or taller or have more slender thighs but all in all I'm relatively proportionate which mostly makes buying clothing (especially tops, I rarely have issues with them) easy except for pant length and some gaping waistband issues...but I've certainly had my share of hangups--mostly related to skin issues, which is why for a loooong time I *didn't* wear shoulder/back baring things. But yeah, I don't shy away from strong shoulder shirts like puff sleeves and I don't mind cap sleeves (which is probably what I wear most of the time).

crazyone, your body shape is a bit similar to mine, although I'm much bigger The funny thing is that my issues are almost the same as yours (pant legnth, gaping waistline or wishes to be taller and to have slender thighs). Whew, the only thing we don't have in common is that I certainly don't want to be bustier.

Actually, looking at you, I can see a perfect X shape as Imogen defined it: a proportionate, feminine body with defined waist and curvy thighs.

You look hourglass to me. You have a lovely strong shoulderline, most pears have a much narrower shoulderline and it's more sloped than yours.

C.O. -- like Maya, I'm seeing what you see. Definitely more hourglass than pear (because of your shoulders), but a slight tendency in the pear direction.
