Hi
I've just joined and I just wanted confirmation on what body type I am.
I take a size 12 jeans (bout 8-10 US size) and a size 14 jacket /dress. I dont think I have much of a waist and find I look better with my shirts left out than tucked in. I have a flat bottom.
I thought I was an inverted triangle but I could be wrong.

I am not an expert but I do not see an inverted triangle. I would say rectangle with apple tendencies but I may be wrong :0)
However our style guru will sort you out pretty quickly!

Hi Sally and welcome from me as well. It's a bit hard to tell in your pictures but I was thinking the same thing as Sveta. Rectangle with a slice of apple

Thats probably why I need an objective opinion because I dont have a clue myself. I do put on weight around my middle.

It's hard to tell from the pictures, and I'm no expert, but as an inverted triangle myself, if you wear a larger size jacket or top to fit the shoulders and your hips are a size or two smalller, I think you could be an inverted triangle. Hopefully Angie will chime in

Your shoulders do not appear more prominent than your hips, so I'm inclined to say rectangle also.

Sorry, I just tried looking again and they are still sideways. The pics are a little blurry. Maybe try again tomorrow with an adult photographer. : )

Hi Sally!

I'm not particularly good at helping people with their body-shape, but I can see that you do have nicely balanced shoulders and hips - lucky lady. Get your adult photographer to take a picture from the side view as well. (I have the *same* issue with my children taking my pictures, I either look blurry, like a giant or like I have no legs! :-))

The ladies on here are really clever at helping you identify your figure shape - I never would have known I was an hourglass primary/pear secondary, without their help!

Are you in Australia by any chance? I just wondered because of your sizing reference?

Thanks for all the welcomes. Yes I suppose it does make sense...when I read what apples should wear, they are all the things that suit me. My mother has a very apple shape so she was shocked to hear that I was the same shape as her as she couldn't wear a lot of things that I wear but I think that is to do with age and the fact that she is carrying more weight than me.
Katiepea, I'm not in Australia. I live in New Zealand but I have visited Australia a lot as my family are Australian. I think the sizes are the same in Australia. I visited the states recently and the sizing was quite different there.
