Hi! Would you fashionistas please share your thoughts on my body type? I am really dying to know. Face type too. Angie, I'd really love your expert eye. Thank you! (PS: thrifted brand new Calvin Klein dress $30.)

hmmm, hourglass perhaps? It's harder to compare hips and shoulders when you're doing the foot-forward thing. Taking a front and side pic and wearing something snug like yoga pants and cami would help to figure out your proportions.

Your shoulders stick out further than your hips butyou also have a waist and curves, so I'd say IT/hourglass?

I think you're in the middle of a Rectangle and Hourglass. What I call a Straight Hourglass. High five. I'm a Straight Hourglass too.

So what are some guidelines for dressing for the straight hourglass?

A little like the rectangle. A little like the hourglass.

You actually have a lot of freedom, and the issue is more to do with specifics, i.e. does the rise fit you, is the waist in the right place -- that kind of thing.

If you're small on top (which I am but you are not) you go by the "upper" guidelines for rectangle more. My bottom half is actually quite muscular (more "hourglass-like") so I pay more attention to the guidelines for hourglasses there. Basically, pick and choose according to your own specifics.
