Boden's: Yes or No?

I have never ordered anything from Boden's, but they have some cute clothing in petite sizes, & I am trying to decide whether to place an order.

Does anyone have experience with them? Could you give me an opinion on quality, customer service, returns, etc? And , of course, anything else you think I should know.

I love Boden, but don't order much for myself (for my kids though). I often drool over the catalog, but in the end am not motivated to spend that amount of $ on one or 2 items. I do selectively purchase at end of year sales. Their quality is quite good, I love their unique prints and knits. I'd equate the quality around J Crew (but like them not everything is a winner). I do think they are a bit pricey. Read their reviews they are helpful and there are many blogs practically dedicated to reviewing Boden clothing (I think they get perks from Boden). Only order when you have free shipping and returns (and I hold out for another % off as well) which are quite common. Customer service has been good for me.

The quality is good for that price point. Sizing runs small, order a size up from what you wear at Banana or Ann Taylor. I've never tried the petites though.

The quality is nice. I've had zero luck (not for lack of trying) finding anything to keep in the many times that I've ordered for them. They just don't work well for my body shape, which is inverted triangle with apple tendencies. Things are always too tight on the waist and too loose on the hips for me. Love their colors and patterns, though.

I have never tried them as they don't have free returns. I can't try their clothes on in person as there are no Boden stores near me. I am just not willing to take the risk on fit when there are so many other stores at their price point or lower that do offer free returns.

I order from them quite regularly and I really like the quality of their clothes. I've never had to return anything so I've been fortunate. Their sizing does run true to size for me although I am familiar with UK sizing as well. Some of their stuff is pricey but it does go on sale and for the quality you get, I think it's a good value. I just placed an order yesterday and before I clicked the "place order" button I opened another page and googled "boden promo code" and I found a code for 20% off and free shipping!
Also, once you place an order with them they send you e-mails for upcoming sales.

I really love Boden. Mamapicklejuice does too, so if she sees this she might weigh in.

In comparing the pieces I've bought, the quality is far superior to J. Crew with good fabrication and nice extra touches. The wool shrunken blazer I bought last year has become a favorite: it's heavy wool lined in an adorable print (see pic below), and the working buttonholes/buttons on the sleeves were finished in different complementing colors. The tweed pencil skirt in the second photo is also finished in a fun way. Those extra touches are really nice and I appreciate the whimsical attention to detail.

Customer service is excellent, the returns policy is fair, and Boden has on occasion sent me thank-you gifts like cute notebooks out of the blue.

Full price can be somewhat expensive, but Boden regularly has sales and they often offer free shipping and returns. Just sign up for their emails and you'll be the first to know.

I probably sound like an advertisement, but I've been extremely pleased with the pieces I've bought from them.

I have tried a couple of things - found the fit random and small, not really for my body type. Quality is mostly quite good though. They are often out of what I want in my size or color, which is frustrating.
