I got it in Moss....it is lovely, though the color is a bit darker than shown online (now they say that on the website) the fit on the sz 18 is very good, except the sleeves are ridiculously long! I couldnt even see my fingertips with it on....so to the tailor it goes. All in all, a good investment piece....

Ah, in my dreams... That coat is the one item I was truly pining for from their latest catalogue (once MPJ shot down all my dreams of the Rainy Day Coat, that is.)

I love that the sleeves are too long, because that can be fixed. Photos, please!

I got this coat in the purple, and it is one of the loveliest purchases I've ever made. Fits perfectly, superb quality, very rich and warm and gorgeous!

As soon as it's not 100 degrees, I'll take a photo!

I am dying for that coat. Is Boden only catalogue? You'll love that coat. I actually already have a purple coat, but it's a little itchy and not that warm. Enjoy it!!

April, yes thats the one I got...I hope you can get it someday too...it really is an investment piece for me.yes, Im glad the sleeves are the only part that need tailoring...Steffie, were the sleeves way too long on yours also?? Im glad you like it, Cookie, Reneeb and lynn! Dana, no they have it on the website too...the color of mine IS slightly darker than it shows, but it just glows in the daylight/store lighting...I think its going to be just a fall coat- not warm enough for Mn winters..hope you try it too, Dana!

Beautiful coat! Does velvet require any special treatment? Can it be worn in the rain?

I have been wanting a velvet coat for about a decade, and I'm really, really coveting the purple one. I had the same questions Lisa does, though, about wearability in different seasons. Also, what are you wearing underneath it? I was playing with the outfit maker at the Boden website, and I couldn't find anything that I quite liked. I can't wait to see pictures of it on a real person!

Lisa, its machine wash and tumble dry! I was suprised...thought it would be dry clean only, so Im not worried about the weather at all......crwilson, this one seems *very*well-made, I do need the sleeves tailored- they are extremely long,it has some weight to it- I think it would be ok in a temp range from 60-45 degrees....Bodens has a 90 day refund policy, so thats plenty of time to look it over and decide....havent a clue what to wear with it yet! Hope you ladies try it and love it!

I love this coat and really want to buy it, but I can't imagine velvet and cat hair are a good mix.

The sleeves are the perfect length on mine. It's fitted on me (I have broad shoulders and a big bootay) but I could get away with wearing a fine knit sweater or corduroy dress underneath. I would definitely size up if you wanted to wear a light jacket or thick sweater underneath.

A bunch of you have mentioned coveting a velvet coat. This is the one, girls. It is FABULOUS and very, very well made. I have tried it on with skinnies and boots and a dress with heels and it looks magnificent with both. Add a teal scarf and a pewter handbag and I know I'll be the best dressed anywhere I go!

Steph, I have a dog who sheds some andd it rolls right off with a lint brush so I wouldnt let that stop you! Steffie, Im so glad you dont need to have it tailored! That does add to the cost and hassle factor, but it is definitely worth doing it! I couldnt agree more with you about this coat- its truly lovely and a great investment piece...I ordered the 18 (that was the closest to my bust measurement) and have room for anything under it, yet it doesnt look too big or sloppy at all....
