Boden straight button fly jeans in ivory review

Well, this may be my last outfit post for a while; this morning, my org got a broad directive to start working from home. Of course, we got this after we all got to work today... so it's lounge clothes for me for a while. That said, I will still leave the house. Things aren't that bad here yet that we have to isolate completely, but I can see the sense in staying off crowded transit and out of offices.

ANYWAY, I wanted to post because I received these Boden jeans and they are FAB. Boden strikes again! It's hard for me to fit in anything high-waisted, because my waist is short. But these fit well in a nice, easy, current-looking way and are a lovely comfortable fabric. They also have the fun stitching and button details. I am wearing them today with an old LOFT top and my gold Ecco sneakers.

These jeans also come in dark blue and light pink. I am tempted to order the former, even though I just got straight leg jeans in a medium blue so I probably shouldn't.

These may replace my white skinny jeans - they got me into wearing white on the bottom but I've never been in love with the fabric, and am off skinnies a bit now (though keeping most of the ones I have since it seems foolish to pass on well-fitting pants; I still wear them at times). I will assess them further, but I never reached for them the way I immediately reached for these. I also have this wider pair of white jeans from Madewell.

Actually, when I work from home, I wear the same types of outfits. The same errand or client meeting outfits - no lounge wear. I even wear my dressier dresses if I feel like it! Why can't you just wear what you usually do?

You look fab.Top tip from the at home crew,keep dressing well unless you are doing something grubby like gardening or painting.Then change into lounge wear in the evening if you are not going out.You will feel better,work better and it will keep an element of routine to your day.

Let me answer the global work from home clothing thing various folks brought up - I am not super comfortable, physically or mentally, in non-lounge pants at home, to be honest. Usually when I WFH, though, I do it on the couch. Since I will be there for two or more weeks, I will set up my laptop to connect to a screen and mouse I have at home on my desk. Working at the desk may make me more apt to put on real clothes--we shall see. It might also boost my morale.

nemosmom, good idea! Many of us in the same boat now, I'm sure.

kkards, our org is really set up for remote work. They had everyone test out using the VPN all at once, and hopefully it will hold out. As for my specific role, it's easy enough. My boss even used to work remotely full time, and someone else on my team has done so for years, too.

Cadiff girl - no gardening or painting in my tiny city apartment, no worries about that. As I said above, I will consider dressing up a bit, but my track record there isn't great....

Those Boden pants are great. I love the look of button fly but have a hard time finding any that work because they’re all high rise, which is difficult for my squat little torso. I keep getting tempted by white pants lately but they scare me. I even tried on a pair at Anthro but they weren’t the right style for me. What’s the rise measurement on those?

Janet - I hear you! It can be a hard look and the fit has to be just right.

The rise on the size I have (14) is supposedly 12.6 in... it's less for smaller sizes, according to the size chart on the page. I am not sure I believe this, though, so I am going to measure it myself when I go home. I think the key here either way is that it's not tight enough to construct my belly, since Boden sizing is generous as you increase in size. (I tend to have a bloated tummy, though I'm working on figuring out why with an exclusion diet, but I really can't tolerate too much tightness there.)

Oh, thanks for the info! Way too high for me. 10” is already a lot of fabric. The high rise trend can’t die soon enough for me. LOL

I'm surprised I can wear it, to be honest! That IS high. I usually try for no more than 11 in, myself.

I hope you can try wearing regular work clothes at home. I work from home most of the time, and I find that being in work clothes really helps me concentrate and get work done. If I'm in my PJs or something, I just can't focus.

I love the jeans and especially paired with those shoes! They do read as warm-toned to me, maybe try a warm or rich jewel toned top next time. Or if you have anything turquoise, I love it with copper.
I work from home frequently and wear PJs or designated house clothes - things that are a bit worn, stained, perhaps shrunk a bit (or I grew), or maybe just not well loved anymore. It gives me a chance to wear out old things, as long as they are still physically comfortable.

I will echo the comments - great jeans and love the sneakers with them! I worked from home several years when my kids were young and loved it. Unfortunately with my job now it isn't really possible.

Work from home, day 1: I am wearing comfy but presentable pants and a nice sweater. I suspect that the comfort of the pants will be key for me here. I have plenty of nice looking sweaters and tops (the temperature can get out of control in my pre-war NYC building, but today it's fine so far). I will have to do some vcons so may as well look presentable from the waist up.
