Boden spring line out; switched to US sizes

I was browsing Boden's website to look at their new spring clothes, and I noticed they switch to listing their items using US sizes. That should spare us a lot of confusion.

That actually increased my confusion substantially. I used to get a size 8. Do I get a 2 or 4 now?

Ooh that's great! I'd be much more inclined to order from them now. I am always hesitant to order in UK sizes.

I visit the Uk site (as that does international shipping) so I didn't notice the size change. But what do you think of the newspring catalogue in general? I was in love with so many things in winter it wasn't funny, only a few spring things grabbed my interest. Unfortunately thats true with me all summer clothes in general though.....pity I live in such warm climate.

p.s. warning - my boden order arrived today so I'm going to take pics tomorrow for feedback. I'm not 100% certain on either count unfortunately

Hmm, interesting! I'm hoping that the US size measurements will still be as accurate as the UK size measurements were. Whenever I referred to Boden's size chart, the suggested measurements fit me perfectly. Thanks for pointing this out!

I have to say that like Tam, I'm not super thrilled with the spring line. With the autumn catalogue I wanted to grab nearly every other thing in it from shoes to coats to skirts. For the spring line I only see a couple things that seemed "me" and unique enough to consider purchasing. I guess it will just make things easier on my wallet.

I guess you can always refer back to the UK site to double check sizes and measurements there too (esp. at first in case there are teething problems).

Heheh I agree Kari, easier on the wallet. It may actually induce me to do some pre-end of season purchasing too! Although I am thinking a shopping ban could be WELL overdue. But no more clamdiggers - that was dissapointing!!

My measurements do not correspond with either of their size charts (UK or US). I just guessed that I was an 8 because I have been an 8 in the past in UK sizing. I think I'm a 4 now since they said they "added" a size 2, meaning it wasn't there previously.

Oh well, I won't be ordering from there any time soon. I'm with Kari and Tam, I'm not that enthralled with the spring range. I have a strong preference for cold weather clothing though, so perhaps that is why. I also prefer their prints and colors in winter and autumn. More geometric and modern. Spring is too pastel and flowery for my taste.

Youblocka, How funny, I felt the same way about the winter catalogue and I don't really like anything in the spring one.

I am a size 4 ( US ) and the 8's from Boden usually fit me - but the quality and fit went down this winter. I bought a couple of dresses on sale and the prints were off and didn't line up correctly at the seeming under the bust line - they made me look like I had severe scoliosis, no kidding. Also, one of the dress was a bit big....I am checking to see if a seemstress can fix it.

I've had trouble with their sizing. Usually I've had to order a size up from the size they recommended to even have a prayer of fitting my bust. I measured myself and ordered a dress last year based on the measurements listed on their chart. It was tiny in the ribcage and bust, and not at all the size that their chart claimed it would be. Maybe I've had isolated bad luck?
