Boden jeans K/R (calf issues...)

I love slim pants, but I HATE the way they can catch up on my calves. When they do this, they look so baggy at the knee. Yuck. I just received the red jeans from Boden that Angie/Anchie have modeled here. I like how they fit, but I'm wondering if they are just a smidge tight on the calf. I think they might be JUST okay, which is why I'd love your opinion... I'm in paranoia borderline territory

And if a keep, what are your thoughts on the length? I ordered the talls, with the intent to hem. So these are folded to this length, lots of room for playing around.

I think that it is one of those things with these types of trousers may be? They look okay to my eye and it is sometimes that because it is a standing still position that over emphasises it IYKWIM. Do they adjust as you walk?

The full length shot is great and I think they look very good!

Fab colour,they really suit you.Length looks fine to me but it’s difficult to tell from a photo.Are you going for a full length look in which case they are too short or a more cropped summer length look in which case they need to be above the ankle bone or they will just look too short rather than intentional.

I think it's just the type of pants. I usually have same problem with those types of slim pants. When you sit down, the pant legs get caught on the calves and I usually end up pushing the pant legs down at the knee. Also they fall down as soon as I take a few steps. I usually have more of a problem with the knees stretching out and looking baggy after awhile sitting in them.

They look good - are they comfortable? I'm afraid I can't wear anything that isn't anymore!

I think they are perfect for you and don't look too tight to me in the calves. The length looks great as well. Are those the blue Ecco sneakers? If yes, we are shoe twins again (mine are, however, not yet as comfortable as the citron ones, despite the same size).

Thanks for full length pic. In full pic I don’t notice the knee bunching. In pic 2 close-up I can. But in the main pic they look great on you to my eye.

I like them on you. They look relaxed and casual, which I assume is the look you are going for? I think they would look great cropped, as Cardiff girl suggested - above your ankle bone.

I would not have noticed the calves if you had not mentioned them. But what happens when you sit? Are they comfortable? If yes, I say crop to picture #2.

I love the colour and they look great. However, this issue happens to me too and if the jeans require adjustment, then I just don’t reach for them. So if wearing them you have a fuss factory then I say pass.

I have this issue all the time with jeans and pants. But honestly, these look nicely slim in the photos to me -- not too snug at all in the calf. I know what you mean, making adjustments can be a pain in the patootie. But these look super versatile and fun.

Thank you all for weighing in on these. I think I will keep them... but I do wish the calf was just a half inch bigger. I"m fine with needing to move them down when I stand up, but I don't want them to look strained at my calf with baggy knees above that tight spot.

I think my next task is to wear them around the house and confirm they'll be ok.They are comfortable, they are a heavyish stretchy denim.

chouette22: yup, navy Ecco's. Double twins! My navy ones are a size bigger than my citron ones - which was a total accident. But they are both comfortable, so maybe the navy are a smidge smaller?

RE length, they are folded to about an inch above my ankle bone here, which is the length I like to wear jeans like this... it seems right for my body proportions. But I definitely will play around, and take photos,, of them folded an inch and/or more as well. I"m kinda wishing I'd just ordered regular length with these as I think that's where I'll end up!

I have this problem all the time too, and my calves are not all that bulky. In fact, I tried on a pair of adorable moto pants at Peruvian Connection that did this so badly it made the knees look very baggy in comparison (they didn’t slide back down my leg when I stood up).

It doesn’t bother me in your photos, but I’d pay attention to how it feels, and try wearing around the house for a while to assess. I know it drives me nuts when pants do this.

Yeah! I know what you mean. I just passed on a pair of wine coloured skinnies due to this issue. However, what you are showing is in the acceptable range - and the colour is just so good!

I know exactly what you mean - my calves are muscular and interfere with many trousers and jeans. I think these will be fine and look fab. Love the red on you.

Love the pants on you and they don't look off in any way. Though to make them feel perfect to you, there is maybe enough of a seam allowance on both sides, from the knee down, that a tailor could re-stitch outward to give a bit more ease over your calves (baby cows? that seems like a bad plural for a leg part) for just a few bucks.
