Boca sandals appropriate for old chic?

On first glance, I love these. They look supportive, comfortable (the strap over toes adjusts) and interesting (I think the squared block heel is reflective silver) to me. HOWEVER, I am 66 years old and the the last person I want to look like is a retiree in Boca Raton. I'm 5'8" with dark hair and a bit edgy, and I live near New York City. I'd probably wear these with white jeans. What do you think? Yay or nay?? (I do have flat white gladiator sandals and lots of black.)

Since I am the bad baby who first mentioned Clinton Kelly's dreaded "Boca sandal" in reply to rachylou's post regarding block heeled sandals, I feel more than qualified to say most emphatically that "Nope, this is NOT a Boca sandal!" (not even a little bit)

You would look fabulous wearing white jeans with those Zara sandals.old chic. A big YAY from me.

In Australia to a little oblivious (read clueless) re Clinton and "boca sandal" but I like the look of these. I really like a block heel so am a little biased of course. They look modern and cool and a touch edgy so perfect for you.

Have I created a monster? Highly unlikely that Zara would make anything resembling a boca sandal. And as others said on my other thread, at the end of the day happy feet are stylish feet.

These look great! I'd be interested in a review if you do happen to try them. I'm looking for some white shoes with a bit of edge as well. My Zara never seems to have the things I'd like to try.

Am I the only one who seems to recall these squared heels-chunky heels -are called city sandals?

Anyhow, I too had never heard of boca sandals until that post on here. I am in California and the only old lady sandals I see (of course I am no fashion critic or expert) are the low wedge slides that seem to be as popular with older women are the thong flat sandals worn by the younger set. I am in southern california near the beach so this is flip flop ville

I love those in white, and would wear them with everything summery, and call them "city sandals".

I think these are fine, but I understand your hesitation. That block heel can easily look frumpy in many cases. In this case, I don't see "boca".

I'm not sure what a Boca sandal looks like, but on this I'm with Michelle: If Zara makes it, it is not the dreaded Boca or other style associated with that set.

Not Boca senior at all! Very chic. But beware, Zara footwear is not the longest lasting. I am wearing the first right now, from last year, and they don't hold up to close inspection. Second pair are available this year, kind of similar.
