Board shorts (or swim shorts) for those looking!

Saw on the swimsuit blog post some people were looking for board shorts...

I think I am going to order the blue and orange pairs...not sold on black because it's such a hot color in summer, and worry about see through with white.

Athleta doesn't carry board shorts for ladies (???) but here are some swim shorts:

You know, I saw the Lands' End board shorts in the catalog and I thought it said they were for use as a cover up instead of for actual swimming. (Oh, I found it on the website. Click on the 'more info' tab.) I wasn't sure what they meant by that, you know? Will they be too sheer when wet? Will they not hold up to the chlorine? Either way, they're pretty nice looking.

I wore a pair of cheapo running shorts as board shorts for quite some time and they held up okay, so I don't know how worried I'd be that these couldn't handle it.

I just don't understand why there aren't more options available because I'm sure there are a ton of women out there just like me who want to cover their thighs, (and not just the top 3-5 inches of their thighs) when they go swimming.

NK - Yes, under the more information, it says to wear with a swimsuit if you want to wear it swimming (I am assuming they mean a one piece swim suit. The sheer issue is why I'm avoiding the white pair.

I don't swim in pools, and in fact, I really don't swim at all now (due to an ear issue) so I like board shorts for modesty when wading in the water or playing on the beach with the kids.

I'm going to try them, anyway...and yes, I have no idea why they offer 6 million shorty short skirts (which barely cover the crotch) as if that's a solution for anyone??? Sleek, yes, even sexy board shorts would be fabulous!
