B.makowsky versus Kors bag: smackdown

So I have decided that should I stick with this shopping ban, I TOO will be rewarded with a fab handbag just like Taylor.The difference is that my husband can't for the life of him understand why I would WANT another bag so I'l be buying it for myself, but I digress...
I am still thinking about the LAMB Corsaire satchel as a possibility, but sticking with my more classic style I am weighing the possibilty of the previously mentioned Kors Hamilton bag(in cream or black most likely):

versus this B.Makowsky Rockerfeller bag I saw online previously and today at TJMaxx(but left on the rack because of this shopping ban, SOB!!!).

The bag is fabulous and feels great on my shoulder. I would probably get it in black or burgundy-type color if I could.
I have not seen the Kors bag in person yet to get an idea of the weight and feel on my shoulders/hands etc.
What's your verdict on the smackdown? I own one other small B.Makowsy bag and I love it, but have not had it for very long so don't know how it bears out over time. The leather is divine though.

I think a splurge bag should be all leather for longevity. I like the Michael Kors better.

Still like the Micheal Kors better. It reminds me of the Hermes Kelly. Plus the MK looks like it's made of thicker leather.

I'm not a huge handbag person, but my vote is for the B. Makowsky. It has a richer look to me.

I've been hit or miss with MK handbags. Makowsky leather is usually very buttery too.

I have noticed the MK bags I do see in stores near me have varied levels of softness and thickness to their leather.Some of them I don't care for but others are amazing.The B.Makowsy bags by and large are consistent in their richness of the leather.
This bag in particular is really divine and has a purple satiny lining that is glorious!

The hardware is a concern for me--any input on how well I should I expect it to bear up to scratches,dulling etc? For both pieces hardware is front and center so if that starts looking shabby it will affect the whole bag I think...

Oh, this is tough, how to choose? I really like the MK bag, and the last one pictured. As far as softness, I have a buttery rich MK bag, and love it and the hardware has held up very well, I wondered about that too.

I used to have that MK bag on my wish list. It popped up recently at my local Rack ~ there were actually two of them I carted around the store for a while. I was surprised how heavy they were when completely empty. All that hardware, especially the padlock, really add up, so keep that in mind.

Holding one in person helped me decide that it wasn't for me.

I was also concerned about the weight of the MK bag,esp with me likely ordering it online without holding it myself. I am NOT a fan of heavy bags, no matter how nice looking! I will likely end up with the Makoswky bag unless someone has some more info against it. It felt very good on my shoulder and still has the classic rich look I like so much.

This from someone who said "he!! no" to the SYC challenge, so take any suggestions from me with a grain of salt. . .
