Blue clutch bag with a burgundy floor length dress??? HELP!!

Okay so I have a Christmas dance coming up and I've bought a floor length burgundy dress which has a fitted, slightly sequined top with a simple floaty skirt. It's my last dance so I really want to feel good in whatever I turn up wearing! I am planning on wearing very simple black 4inch heels - seen as they usually end up coming off after the first few dances anyway - but I am struggling with what bag to use. I have found a really nice bright blue envelope clutch bag but will that clash terribly??

Looking for suggestions on bags/shoes/accessories as I am majorly stuck - THANKS!!

I would go for a maroon or wine accents myself. The dress sounds beautiful.

Your dress sounds amazing!

It would be fun to see a picture of it with the blue clutch and with some other colors. You could lay the dress on your bed or the floor and take some snaps with the blue clutch and other bags you're considering, or if you don't have other bags to try, just try folding up a shirt of that color and tucking it in with the dress to compare the color combos.

I'm not sure about the black shoe with the blue purse. Nude might help the clutch to work better. A metallic bag might be fun with the burgundy dress too.
