Those are fab, Angie! I have a few pairs of full, cropped black pants (one in a heavyweight merino rib, one in cotton poplin, one pleated high-waisted pair in a poly blend) but I do like the idea of a lantern silhouette. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled when I'm shopping online--you can never have too many pairs of black pants, in my book :)!

Janet, your hair has been looking gorgeous! I'm jealous of your perfect bangs, with I think work so well with the cut you have--I have a cowlick right in front that prevents me from having bangs, so I try for these sort of quasi-bangs just to have some forehead coverage, but it's not the same.

Ooh, love that "marbled paper" print.

Blouses are one of those things that often tempt me and that I rarely wear -- our weather seems to go from too cold for blouses to too hot for blouses, like, overnight.

April, I know what you mean. But I’ve also found that I’m more likely to wear blouses that are not button-up and not collared, like a V neck popover in a silky fabric — they layer under jackets more neatly and are usually an easier fit than buttonfront. I’m trying not to buy more button front unless they are drapey, casual, and washable. No more stiff button fronts — they are too likely to gape at the bust and feel fussy on.

100%, Janet. I'm so sick of that bust gape -- no matter how much you size up, all that extra fabric creeps around to the back and when you look down, there's that gap!

I will think on your comments and whether I should mentally put softer fabrication blouses into a different mental category.

LisaP, YES, the Artful Home. They have more styles in that vibe. I generally find their look more interesting and flattering than EF. Prices comparable.

April and Janet, I get what you mean. Especially with the gaping buttons thing.......and sitting down. That said, layering over slippery blouse fabric is easy when the buttons don't gape. And my casual button front shirts are my Summer "t-shirts". I would be lost without them.
