It may be brutally cold for the next 10 days or so, but Spring hasn't failed to show up yet, even though she seems to be fashionably late on occasion!
With my new cobalt shoes and this cabbage rose skirt, I'll be ready!

This skirt is from Kohls (Apt 9). It appears gray in the photo, but it's actually a photographic style print of blue/grey/white roses on a black background. I tried on 3 samples in my size, looking for that perfect pattern layout. One of them had a big white flower right on the.......

Some of you might run from a print like this, but I enjoy it for a few reasons: The "unrealistic" colors are subdued and add a more modern, graphic quality to what would be a romantic floral; a larger body suits such a large scale print; and it has a great midi length.

I came home and tried it on last night with my denim jacket, which I loved, but I forgot to stage it again today when I had good light. I love the idea of the skirt with a simple white tee, denim jacket and cage sandals. Today I staged it with two black jackets, two different kinds of shoes and my chambray blazer.

Which length of black jacket do you prefer? What other kinds of footwear would work, particularly for more casual wear?

As you know, I've been using my new "SING" acronynm: simple, imaginative, nuanced and graceful. This skirt is firmly in the "imaginative" camp, but I'm not sure that it checks the other boxes quite so well. I think I love it, but I don't want something that overwhelms me.
