Hi Fabbers! I did a quick forum search but couldn't find any info on these OTKs. Did any one try these? Any petites? I'm trying to resist the siren call of the suede.

ETA: poor quality pics but you get the general idea. I'm going to test them out with my closet this weekend. I'm not sure they are sleek enough to wear except with skinnies and leggings. WDYT? Thanks again!

I bought these last year. Love them! I'm 5'4" with short legs and don't find them overwhelming at all. They are comfortable and keep me warm and dry in the winter. My one complaint would be that they start out pretty sleek, but slide down a bit and wrinkle at the ankle throughout the day, especially if I'm wearing a skirt instead of thick leggings or skinnies. I have small ankles though, so they probably don't do this on everyone.

Oh...that's great info, Carambola. I wonder if the Eden and Eleanor style are the same.

This is starting to tempt me, also, as the type of boot I have never owned or worn -- and, waterproof!!!

I bought the Eden. They were on sale, but may not have been from NAS. Come to think of it, they have seen 2 winters and I remember wearing immediately after buying, so definitely after NAS, and 2 years ago rather than last year. They are holding up nicely, but could probably use some additional weatherproofing for reinforcement.

Give them a spin! I tried and think they're lovely. Ended not keeping for the reasons listed here, but they just might work for you. And on sale, the price is right.

I received the boots today and finally had a chance to try them on. I had high hopes for these boots, but they are going back. I struggled to put them on, and I don't have large calves. The hardest part was getting my heel in. It was a nightmare to get them off again as well.

I don't think the boots are too tall on me (I'm 5'2"), but I'm really not sure how I'd wear them. I put them on over skinny jeans, then with a skirt. I am hiking the skirt up in the photo to give you an idea of how tall the boots are.

Wow, they look like they fit like a glove! What a shame that they are so hard to get on and off. My calves are around 13"--I wonder if I'd have the same problem as you? Thanks so much for sharing!

I think you should try them and see. I have no problems getting them on, but do find getting them off a tad annoying. They require a firm, two-handed grip and tug, which means balancing on one leg for more than a few seconds if I'm not sitting down. Not a huge deal, but obviously less convenient than simply stepping out of an unzipped boot. For me, they are totally worth the effort.

Wow, Banoffi, I think they look spectacular!! I understand if they are not worth the effort or don't feel great -- but in terms of fit they're sensational!

Banoffi-the way you're wearing them looks great. Too bad they're difficult to get off.
Anyway, you guys have convinced me that these are not too sexy. Just another look that has the advantage of being sleek and current.
I *just* bought a pair of knee high boots, so am not in the market for any other type of boot right now, otherwise I'd be all over these (or maybe a zip off version). But maybe next year.

Here's the getting them off tip that was given to me, and it works. Fold the top half way down your leg, then step out. If you leave it folded down, then getting them on is also easier, and it doesn't hurt or crease the leather at all to leave them like that. Then it's basically,like getting a bootie on and off, and unrolling a sock!

Smittie, I also bought the la Canadienne knee highs at NAS and have been trying to decide which one to keep. I'm leaning towards the Blondos, but they're both so good!

crackers - I'm going to try your tip tonight before I send the boots back! Do you wear slippery socks underneath them as well?

They look lovely and I like them particularly with the skirt and stripey top. I have knee height boots and do what crackers does, and fold down. I also do it when I put them on. I have found it doesn't hurt the boot at all.

Banoffi, don't laugh but I never wear socks. I'm just used to slipping boots on and off without them.

Update: I just tried Cracker's suggestion and it worked brilliantly!! Thank you, Crackers! The problem I was having before was getting my foot into the footbed, and rolling down the boots to put them on and take them off fixed the problem. I think you'll love the boots, kellygirl, now that we know the trick to putting them on!
