Hey guys, I went shopping and bought one item.

I tried on several that you will see below.

Which outfit do you think is the best? Also which is the worst?

Anyone with tips for dressing my body type and if I am going in the right direction, please feel free to add.

First off, what are you shopping for -- work? home? do you have a certain dress code at work?

My favourite of all of these on you is the sweater dress in 2. I also like the striped peplum top in 4.

I will concur with Ceit here -- #2 is my favorite. It would look awesome with a pair of tall boots.

I like #2 and #3, also the bottom one in #4. My least favorite are #1 and #5. The short, and tight, skirts, along with a lot of arm showing, doesn't look as balanced. I'd pick either top or bottom to show some skin, but not both at once for the most part.

Echoing Ceit - what is the occasion? Casual wear, or going out?

#1 is my favourite. I see a confident woman who is totally comfortable in her skin and ready for a fun night out.

#2: Shows your beautifully proportioned figure and would look great with tights and tall boots

#3: The fuschia and graphic print are bold and beautiful, but I am not crazy about the shrunken fit of the blazer with the super skinny pants. I think a fluid fit top would look more modern, and the blazer unbuttoned overtop would provide a bit of structure

#4: I think the second look w/the striped tunic over leggings is chic and versatile

#5: I think there is too much going on here w/the short, tight fit and the busy print.

When do we find out which piece you brought home?

I'm also with Ceit on this one. The sweater dress is amazing on you and the striped top stunning. I also concur with Emily, the pants outfit is amazing but I really am not a fan of this style blazer with it.
Stunning pieces, you have a good eye.

LOVE the sweater dress (#2.) I also like the peplum top in 4. The only outfits I don't care for are the long striped maxi in 4 and the dress in 5.

I like # 2, but I wonder if you could try a size up. I also like 3 and the peplum in 4. I think the bottom outfit in 4 is my favorite.

It looks like you are lucky enough to wear the same size on top and bottom with a thin waist, so dresses can really work for you.

Its funny - the one I bought got ZERO votes- #3 (Blazer, Red & Jeans) - Just shows how much I need the help

@Ceit - Though my choices don't really reflect it- I am looking for semi casual looks that are sophisticared that I can somehow from day to night. I work in a artsy place so, I have a little wiggle room.
@El Cee - Never thought of tall boots- Thanks!
@Mo - I am in my 20s, but looking to make my look more "grown up" - thanks for the advice about the amount of skin to show.
@Emily - thank you for that thorough breakdown! I have been wondering what to do with these pants, because they do the opposite of balance my figure. I will go back and get that Tunic- thanks!
@Freckles - thank you for cosigning that it is the length of the jacket that isn't working- I actually wore the blazer outfit out yesterday and felt wrong- but couldn't put my finger on what was wrong. I get it now!
@kellygirl - I appreciate your candor- pointing out what doesn't work helps me... also saying why would help me a lot, too!
@Liz - I hear you on that flowy dress - I am a 1x -ish on top & 3x on bottom - 45-38-57 - which as made shopping for clothes an event. Even when I have lost weight in the past... I continue to maintain the same proportions.
Anyone/Everyone with similar measurements - please feel free to pipe up and let me know how you have managed to appease to the style gods

Guys, since I have bought the Jacket- does anyone have any ideas of how to wear it successfully?

I love the print on the blazer, and the fit in general - except that it looks a bit short. I would try wearing it over dresses or with skirts, and see if that looks more balanced than wearing it with pants, which generally call for a longer top layer.
Love your figure! Mine is not quite as vavavoom but I know the pain of fitting the booty without looking too 'clubwear' in situations where that's not what you're aiming for.

@Laura (rhubarbgirl) - You hit the nail on the head about my anti-club-like aspirations I want to look stylishly appropriate (no matter the occasion) but not matronly.
Your dress idea under the blazer is something I never thought about. I think that I'll try that for sure with maybe this (almost) knee-length black dress that I have as well as a denim wrap dress that might be interesting.

I actually was about to chime in that I like the jacket best and can see it over a long fitted top or dress a as cropped look.

I am not a big fan of bodycon so my first suggestion is to size up on the rest - I think you have a fantastic figure that will shine though.

@alaskagirl - thanks for the input...Glad to know he Jacket isn't a lost cause. I'll keep the sizing suggestions in mind, especially for day time (non- va va voom) events.

I love the jacket. Wear it with a column of color underneath. It would look great with a black top and black pants or skirt.

If you have the appropriate light/dark colours in your wardrobe try them monotone style with pants for the blazer, it might appear totally different. It is a gorgeous print, sorry not sure if it is black or navy on my monitor.

@Freckles- the jacket is black. I love the idea of monotone style- if that is something different than @carter's column of color idea, please let me know- as I am down for experimenting right now.
