Blazer trends?

From what I understand a blazer is a pretty much classic piece. I own a lot of them. I do not really follow trends that carefully, but last year I saw a lot of boyfriend blazers. Now it seems like I'm seeing more classically tailored and shrunken blazers, but still see some boyfriend as well. Is it anything-goes, blazer-wise, this season?

I saw that Zara was still doing the butterfly shoulders on blazers when I went in. A little bit frilly girl, but I still like it.

I too noticed the boyfriends not getting so much love these days... I think the ponte knit jackets have taken over, at least that's what I see everywhere...

@Tracey I just bought two ponte knit blazers! They are so comfy. Hopefully they are still in style.

Not Rachy, but I think they are the puff sleeved style with the little pleats. Kind of like in the photo below, from Zara's website.

I think the most modern looking blazers are one button stance, with some fluidity in the fit, some ease --- not as boxy as a boyfriend, but a bit like a tuxedo jacket. But they're showing all kinds -- from shrunken to oversized and boxy.

Ahh, got it. I have a blazer with shoulders like that but don't find it particularly flattering. I have blazers with one button, two buttons, and no buttons.

I like the newer blazers with assymetrical bottoms...higher in back but the front comes to lower points. The angle seems more flattering than a straight line dividing the body.
Except for the blazers with several buttons and high stance, it feels like there are lots of stylish choices.

But hey, I didn't see any yellow blazers when I was in Zara. I really did like that bright yellow. Oh piffle. *They're* gonna make me go downtown again, aren't they?

From my point of view, the one button (low stance) blazers look modern, two button are pretty classic (as long as the details don't date it) and then we wander into the woods with the 3 or more button blazers. Basically, what Suz said.
