Blazer fit help

Hello! I'm mostly a lurker but I love this forum

I recently bought this Boss green suit at NAS. It's a bit of a splurge for me and I want to make sure I get the fit right. I bought it because I am wanting to upgrade my work wardrobe and I love the emerald color.

Is the blazer too big? I will need to have the sleeves shortened, but I have rather T. Rex arms for my height It is a 6, and I think I could exchange for a 4, but I don't want it to look too small. Or is it just not the right fit for me in general?

What do you think? Sorry for the wrinkles from shipping.

There’s definitely some ease in the fit but I don’t think it looks overly big, and it’s a great style on you. It’s worth trying the smaller size for comparison though. As you say, it’s a splurge and you want to get it right.

I agree with missvee -- if you have any doubt, I would try the next size down to see if it's an improvement. It does look like you have room, but you want it to be comfortable too...

I agree with missvee and Janet. It's worth trying the next size down to compare and have peace of mind. After a sleeve adjustment on this size, I think the fit is good. I like my own blazers on the fluid side of tailored simply because I don't think that a blazer that is too blazer looks great. Not as polished and chic to my eye. But MUST compare sizes to be sure.

Fit looks promising, but I’d give it a good press before making a final decision. If it were mine, I’d also check with a tailor before opting for a size down. Shortening the sleeve, and some minor tweaking around the hips, would customize the fit without compromising the tailored fluidity of the jacket. Maybe also check the placement of the bust dart? It’s hard to tell from the picture, but the point of the bust dart should be at the apex of your bust. Again, it’s an easy fix that would leave you with a jacket which is perfectly fitted to your body.
