I’m taking a break from planning bathroom renovation projects to go through my long-neglected holding zone. I pulled out these pants from about 5 or so years ago (from Sundance) expecting them to be too tight, but surprisingly they are wearable. I think I’ve had them tucked away for three years! So I decided to try to figure out how to style them for 2018.

Well, for some reason I’ve always thought these were very dark navy with cream, and I found them rather hard to pair with tops. They are a busy print (really unusual for me to wear patterned pants, I know!) so I tend to want to keep it really simple and wear them with a solid color top in the print. Well, I have zero cream or navy solid tops anymore, so that idea is out.

But today I took a closer look and tried on black tops with these pants, and I think the pants may actually be black?? A soft and maybe cool black, but black nonetheless. I’m a little weird about having to have my black tones match, but is this working? I think so, but I thought I’d get the YLF eyes on this. Closeups in 2 and 3 show two different black tops next to the pants.

Part of me says if it’s that hard to tell what color the darn pants are, I get to say they are black if I want to!

I’m tempted to keep these and wear. Whatcha think?

Ignore my total lack of attention to hair or face — I haven’t set foot out of the house yet today!
