Black and white summer

I stick mainly to black and white in the very limited Irish summer. We get a sunny day every now and then so a huge summer wardrobe isn’t required. Our sunny days are about 20 degrees not too hot. These are some of my summer outfits I wore recently.

Pirouette, I LOVE these! So sensible to keep to a limited and versatile palette when you know the fashion season is short. The contrast and different textures and details add plenty of interest in lieu of colour, and your blonde hair creates a lovely contrast against the black. You look perfectly polished in all of these.

I have a soft spot for black and white together and your versions are so modern and striking, and so excellent on you. Somehow you mix casual and elegant perfectly. Looks like some great linen pieces here. Love those white long shorts!

Very stylish! I think #5 is my favourite, I know it is black without white haha. Very much my type of silhouette. The sandals are super cute too, casual and elegant all at once. Actually I like all the shoes you are wearing.

Your weather intrigues me as someone who has Irish ancestry, yet have never visited. Currently having extreme heat of 35 degrees c (unusual) so it sounds quite inviting. Do you miss not having a 'proper' summer, or is it a case of 'that is how it is'? What are is the winter weather like? All I know about Ireland is perpetual rain...

Bl&w is always a favorite color scheme for me-and I use, too- love these all-looks a cohesive summer style for you-and YLF in them-I also love those longer shorts with the silver slippers, and a bl&w print like your skirt!

You look wonderful in these! I love the ones with the (wrap?) skirt especially. The restrained black and white palette is just my cup of tea, especially as someone living in a Nordic country with a similarly limited summer season.

Thank you all for your compliments. The skirt is a wrap skirt I bought in Mango. The sandals are new from Carvela. The shorts are from Zara and the silver shoes are old a Spainish make called Unisa. The black short dress is G Star raw.

The Irish love talking about the weather it’s our favourite topic!! Our winters aren’t too bad we rarely get snow and if we do the whole country grinds to a halt it’s so funny as other countries get far more snow and manage to operate normally. We are so used to not having a real summer it doesn’t bother us. Most people go to warmer climate for their summer holidays so we do get to see the sun .

This does not look like a summer wardrobe but a transitional one. I love every look. It will give me ideas for August when I pull out the black and white as l have had enough summer color and will be transitioning back to colder weather. Out come black sundresses and black and white crops . I am especially glad to see the long white shorts as I have a similar pair. It is time to get out the fall wardrobe to see if I need anything. The stores are starting to stock more fall weights.

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments. I appreciate that I live in a country that hasn’t got extremes in weather. I don’t know how people cope in very hot climates especially finding clothes that are cool and comfortable. Also summer fires are raging in southern Europe and elsewhere in the world and it’s horrible to see such destruction.

Dressing in crisp back and white is a great way to do summer dressing in style. It's hard to pick a favourite, for me it is #3, so elegant and suits you perfectly.

The combo of black watch on one wrist and white bracelet on the other is a really cool asymmetrical effect imo.

This is a cute wardrobe--I especially love the patterned skirt. But so not what I would wear for summer--mine is hot and I need cotton jersey, etc. But I would love this as a capsule if I were traveling internationally.
