black and white men's watch

I have dainty wrists and I really like the look of men's watch (with a steel bracelet) on my arm.

I would usually go for a very clean watch face like this one:

But I have recently fallen in love with this b/w watch. It is a Breitling Navitimer which is totally out of my price range:

What do you think? Is this a crazy idea and will look terrible? Have you seen anything similar to the second watch that I could try out? I am willing to shell out $250 or less for it.

I saw that photo on the sartorialist a few weeks ago and I think that gal looks really fab. I love the watch she is wearing too! Is it seriosly out of your price range? If not (just an investment rather), I think it would be a good one to make if you were going to wear it every day. I think Angie mentioned that the case needed to be smaller than your wrist.

If you want to go with a less expensive watch, Michael Kors makes some nice ones. I have one of his for my everyday watch and it has held up really well (I'm hard on my stuff). I got it at Nordstrom. His watches are around $200 or so.

I'm at the bus stop typing this on my phone, LOL. I will search and see what I can find when I get home. Do you have a more detailed photo I could see?

Thanks Ana. BN's retail for a few thousand bucks, and at this point I need so much more in my wardrobe that I can't justify spending that much on 1 (investment) item I will look at MK watches, thx for the lead.

You know I thought of you when I looked at the picture closely today, she is dressed in all white with black accents and carrying a large gold bag, and she has blonde hair. It's your color scheme

and if you click on "models" and then on "Navitimer" and then click on the first watch to the left, you'll see a spinning menu pop up in the middle of the screen. Click on "Presentation" and you'll see the enlarged watch face. Sorry, it's so complicated, terrible web design

Eesh, yeah, I know what you mean about dropping that much on one thing. I bet you will find something great for less though.

Okay, I searched for a watch that was $250 or less, had a black face like the Breitling, stainless steel bracelet style, and was chunkier like a man's watch (I searched men's watches too, but that is one area where men's stuff IS more expensive than ladies', so I couldn't find any in your price range).
