I wanted to show you what fashion related items I got for my birthday! The three items in the first picture came from others, the backpack in the second picture was a present to myself. I got the navy cashmere gloves (Brora) fom my mum, who bought them on a recent trip to London. My sister gave me the alpaca scarf which she bought in Canada and the cardigan was a present fom my godmother.

And my present to myself - I finally got myself a new backpack! This is the Daylight backpack from Tom Bihn in Black Dyneema. I had come across this one a while ago, but couldn't quite make up my mind if I wanted to spend so much money on a very minimalist backpack. But now I'm very glad I did!

A huge thank you to Eva here, who helped me out immensely with pictures and test packing and answering all my questions a while ago. Back when we wrote I couldn't settle on a color, but then I saw two weeks ago that they had this so called Black Dyneema back in stock and I took the plunge. And I think it's perfect!

Because it's black it will go well with all my stuff, but the white checks make it look more interesting and less somber looking. I love the minimalist and slightly retro vibe I'm getting from it, same as the slim profile. And from what I've tried so far it's very comfortable to carry, even though it's pared down so much. It's so lightweight! And it's going to pack down super small so I can take it when I do carry-on travel with only one bag. It doesn't have internal organisation for small items, but I thought about getting a clutch I can put in the higher inside pocket to hold my small stuff which I can then also use to carry my wallet, phone and keys in case a museum requires me to put the backpack into a locker.
