Birthday gift from DH K/R?

DH got me a pair of silver shorts and silver top from Club Monaco for my birthday this weekend. I only have the shorts in this post as it only allowed a few photos... I'm playing with the YLF app! At first I wasn't sure about either item but now I think I quite like both. What do you think about the shorts? The silver is pretty fun! Wow, did not realize how crazy muscular my thighs are getting until I saw these photos... This marathon will turn me into a man!

Anything glaringly wrong with the shorts? I could exchange or return them next weekend when I go see my parents. I'll post the top in another post.

My only question with an outfit like this is where do you wear this? I mean, it seems too nice to wear as a MOTG, but still quite casual. Is it resort wear?

Parsley it's just a casual summer outfit for me. I live in shorts in the summer, and I tried to dress down the silver a bit. Are they too OTT for a casual MOTG outfit?

Not too OTT in my opinion I find even on my MOTG days there are occassions in which I can dress up a little more, trips to the city, out for lunch...

Love the shorts on you. I think you can style these a lot of ways and the fit looks superb.

What are the cleaning instructions on these? With casual MOTG wear, the only downside I can see to these is if they are dry clean only.

I like the shorts! They seem like they would be fun and somewhat unexpected in the summer. I live in shorts all summer too and sometimes get bored with them. These would be an antidote to that summer boredom.

No it's good Parsley. Sometimes I do choose things that are cool looking, but not really practical. Actually I do that a lot! I thought these would be a nice fun departure from my normal black, blue or white shorts. Although, CM does have them in black, white and some patterned ones too.

And now a little OT - but how many miles are you running a week? I see you're in training for a marathon, wow that is awesome. I will never get there. But I am running about 16-20 miles a week - 4 miles, maybe 4-5 x a week. How much do I have to increase my weekly mileage before I too have legs of steel?

Kristen I run about 30-35 miles per week right now. I'm just at halfway of my training, week 9. I had made up my own schedule which would have gone up to about 45 miles per week, but it's getting much too hard, so I've dropped it down. I started out at 5 runs per week, but now that my long run was 14 miles this week, and the shorter ones are 6-9 miles, I have dropped down to 3-4 runs per week to give my legs and body time to recover. I was probably running similar distance and times per week as you when I was just running for "pleasure", lol. My legs have always been muscular, they are like rocks. The definition has definitely gone through the roof in the past few weeks though. Another thing is we started Paleo as well, and I have eaten very minimal grains and sugar over the last month...maybe that has something to do with the definition?

You will never look like a man...just more of a woman. Your legs look great...I am a bodybuilder and in the summer I get so many positive comments about my muscular legs. Just enjoy having a great pair of legs. I love shorts in the summer but I do wish I could get some that are more dressy than they sell here in Greece. They all look like beach wear and not smart.
