BF tee - how big is too big?

File this under all honest opinions wanted. This is intended to be a roomy fit. But how roomy? I have another top by this brand I showed for comparison (pic 5), a ribbed, deep vee long sleeve shown here layered over a tank for work. Same size - small. So the size is what is supposed to be my size, but . . . back to the question:

yay - perfect roomy BF fit
nay - too big, BF or not

It looks too big to me, including the way it fits on the shoulders.

I really don't like when my shirts bunch up in the back like that, but how do you feel about it.

The fit on you looks very similar to the fit on the model, but I think it would look better in a smaller, but still slouchy, size.

Fit looks good to me, as long as it's not falling off your shoulder or exposing boob. (That's what always happens to me with this type of fit. I love the look but get really tired of yanking it up all the time.)

Columbine, I'm torn and wonder if my love for the fabric is coloring my eye for fit. I'd really like to try it with skinny jeans and tall boots, but most of that is all back in the Tahoe closet.
I do have my white jeans here, though. Maybe I should try that.

I think it looks like how it fits on the model. As long as it doesn't slip off/get annoying in the neck, I think it comes across as a BF fit.

It looks like the model (but of course we're not seeing how it's likely pinned in back on the model). Will it stay up on it's own? There is some bunching in back. I think I'd prefer to see a smaller size, but I'm guessing that's not an option.

The second set of pics help a lot and totally changed my opinion. It may catch on the back of certain bottoms but the garment sweep is sufficient I think. I like the interesting sleeves.

Fit looks super in the photos. Crux is how does the tee move when YOU move. Does the neckline and shoulder fit move all over the place - or stay put? Road testing is in order, Malina.

I like the fit, but the deciding factor for me would be the arm holes. Can you see right thru to bra and torso with any arm movement? That would be a deal breaker for me.

If not, I'm a big fan of how it looks on you. I like that kind of oversize.

I often have this trouble as well and wonder if it has something to do with my sloping shoulder line and small bust.

The deciding factor for me is to road test. If I am constantly having to rearrange the shirt to prevent boobies peeking out of the neckline or the shirt sliding off my shoulders then I size down. Sizing down makes a slightly less fluid fit but the annoyance factor is lower which, for me, makes the garment more wearable.

I like the version with a white layer underneath. That is a good option to mitigate the cleavage factor and would make the shirt more wearable when you need to bend over.

This type of T to me looks best without the cami, to get that kind of off-hand and drapey look, which is lost with the underlayer. I don't mean you can't wear it with a cami, I just mean, then it might not achieve the same result and a different top might end up in the same place. I can never wear that type of shirt except as a loungewear concept!

I think it looks elegantly casual on the model-that sort of simple, unstructured, "I am wearing my clothes lightly" look--I love it on others, but I have to wonder, can she even bend down the least without a wardrobe malfunction? Unless one is not in a general public place ( hah--BF shirt!) . Also agree about the armholes--and that depends on whether bra- reveal even bothers one.
So, I think the fit looks good but might not be practical.

How is the neckline when you bend over? And how much can you see through the armholes? That's my test. I've learned that because of my narrowish shoulders, I have to size down on tops with wide and lowish necklines because I don't want to be *forced* to wear a cami with a T. Otherwise, what's the point?

If you're not showing too much, I think you're good to go on the fit as it doesn't *look* too big.

This looks like Overszied, The Look. I'm another in the camp of, if it doesn't slide around, the fit looks spot on. I have a similar white tee which I love; it slides a wee bit, but I don't mind it. It doesn't look BF-y to me, probably because my hubby wouldn't ever wear such a drapey, deep-V, short sleeved tee ^^ Voted Yay!

Thanks for all the input ladies! To be clear, the second pics were over my workout tank I was wearing (I was heading out to the gym) so not a 'planned underlayer' for this tee in any way.
You can definitely see my bra if I bend over. Maybe that's the downfall of having a small chest, the shirt has lots of room to come away from the body This doesn't worry me. Heck, I have to scrub bar glasses bent over the sink in tops at work all the time in front of men drinking, ya know?? I mentioned the conservative/modesty thing on the get to know me thread but maybe should have reiterated here. I don't want everything hanging out but I'm not freaked at the idea of a bra showing under an armpit when I move or anything. Mostly, I wanted to know if the shirt just looked too big on my frame or if it was correctly 'oversized'. Thanks again! Will be road testing this week.

I voted nay. I don't think the shirt looks bad, but I think you can do better. I feel like the neckline is a little too wide on you (not too deep but too wide), and I feel like there is too much pooling of the fabric on the sides of the torso and in back. Is it cotton? Might it shrink in the wash a bit? If it is cotton, I would say that maybe the size will be a little better after washing.

It is modal and cashmere. Here is my inspo - a small pic of Miranda Kerr in Lucky last month. I have a slimmer grey cotton 'every day' tee. Will have to see what BF says. I think I'll wear it tomorrow for lunch out as a blind test he he.

He may hate it and join the 'nay' votes here. He is more traditional and conservative, like much of the forum.

Mo I don't think your other gray tee works for the look you're after, you really do need the size and the drape (mine also has modal in it, makes for super drape!). The other tee adds sportiness, the oversize tee adds.. something else. Artiness? Nonchalance? Something else that's not sporty, which changes the vibe quite a bit.

yes, Aida, the other tee is a basic, not what I consider 'stylish' wear tee hee. That's why I got this one. I know the other is nowhere near what that look entails. Thanks!

EDIT: and I don't have any lace bras but if there is a peek it will be satin colorblocked
