Possible BF candidate and summer shoe review. Lot of pics.Angie's tricks employed or not, with results.
J. Jill slim BF jean—same in all pics. Not slouchy or super relaxed,. I wanted to try a size up for comparison, but was not in store. I did not keep the Kut Catherine blue denim jean last year (kept the white). I actually really like these as a not-skinny slim jean, and I like the amount of taper.
Shown with footwear I already have and still like; to review:
1-2 Striped slipper flat—Loft sweater, CK blazer
3- Khaki Keds! So comfortable, but are they too...something ?
4--KC oxfords--love this style; look huge; sized for socks in winter. VC sweater
5-6 --Don Hardy sneaker. Still like! Too weirdo? AT silk shirt. Semi-tuck is more schtumpifying to me than untucked. Could try a blue or gray belt or self-color shoe.
7-8 Roxy laceless sneaker—a black& white stripe that I like because it reads kind of in-between as does #1. Topshop top.
9--Tan wedge with wide ankle strap—Etienne Aigner from TJM 2 years ago because they fit my foot shape, bunion-friendly, reasonably walkable. 10--Same sandal in coral !—was about to toss; maybe new life with BF. The cream belt, semi-tuck, and strap sandal are too much all together for me. Happier with low-contrast belt.
11--Bonus Stuart Weitzman Guything loafer in a two-tone. Strategy was mixing light and black to wear with nude hose and black skirt. Fit is wrong and they are as stiff as a board and not comfortable so not trying another size. But, I am keen on the style of the shaped vamp instead of straight high vamp.
I find I prefer a low-contrast belt with the BF's. The low rise with my long torso also poses top challenges--it takes a really long top to allow for bending etc and a couple of these barely make it.
Not styled for different rolled lenghts. I tend to like longer lengths. Can roll to low calf but too tight for higher--hence Angie noting cropped style needed for shorter stylings if tapered.
What say you? Too ice-cream cone for pear? Jean and shoe comments welcome.
