BF jeans feels wrong: Help me analyze

Is it my eye or the photo angle or is it wrong for my short legs?
Or all of the above?

I think maybe it could be all of the above, or this pair just isn't for you. Your ankle socks create a very distinct cut-off line which may be part of the problem in analyzing the fit/look these jeans.

Maybe it's the socks and the top? The jeans don't seem to do much for you but maybe it's a combination of photo, light, socks and top. Sorry, I am not of much help.

It's the socks and the top. You need a belt, faux tuck or semi tuck it into the jeans, and wear the right footwear.

I feel like it's mostly the photo angle (because it's pointed down), but I agree you need a belt and different footwear. You might try rolling them up higher too although obviously that would be more for summer.

ETA: I can't tell for sure with the photo angle, but I think maybe the leg opening is too wide for you? I feel like it needs to be more tapered.

My first thought was changing the straight across line of your top- so, like others said, a semi tucked top and belt would help. And shoes!

My first thought was socks and top plus no semi-tuck, but I also agree with Diana about the leg opening.

I also don't like cropped BF jeans on myself either, especially if the leg opening is wide. I have a pair of BF jeans that people here said looked ok but I feel kind of frumpy in and I think it's the same issue as you. Maybe we just prefer a different silhouette!

I just had on a pair of BF jeans yesterday that I tried rolled up. But they are not tapered enough for me to like them rolled. Along with their light gray color, I just wasn't happy with them and changed into slim jeans. I think that pair of BF's will be purged.

I would wear these with booties or even more, with sandals in the summer. With either look, without socks.

The fit looks fine.

I prefer wearing my bf jeans longer in the winter. I have pairs that come longer (such as from True Religion) that are great in Winter. I wear them cuffed but almost full length so my socks are hidden. My shorter bf jeans I reserve for Spring and Summer or when I am in a warmer climate like Southern California.

Ramya, try low contrast flats for heels. Or booties that bookend the colour somewhere in the top part of the outfit.
