Beyond the Halogen pencil skirt - what to try next???

Before I go and buy up every color of the seamed Halogen pencil skirt, can any of you lovely ladies recommend another pencil skirt to try? I have the gorgeous green I modeled in a WIW last week, and I *may* have bought the gray one (it was on a sale! Jjsloane made me!!!).

I am all ears!

(Love the fabrication of the Halogen skirts, but open to more suit-like fabrics, or even leather...)

Um, sorry, as the owner of 3 Halogen pencil skirts, I'm in a similar rut and don't have any suggestions. I did spy a very cute blue/white one at BR that I thought was very cute - fortunately they didn't have it in my size, so I wasn't tempted. And it doesn't seem to be online yet.

I own skirts by Express ( real hit or miss), Limited and various Macy's brands, I think INC and Charter Club, also BR.
I still think my halogen skirts are the best ones. I own 4!

If you are in the market for a dark denim pencil skirt, I just bought the NYDJ *Andy* skirt via Nordstrom online. The NYDJ *Emma* is more common, but I didn't get a good fit in the two sizes (but different colors) I tried. The Andy has a lot of stretch so it fits me perfectly and doesn't shift. The petite hits me where the Halogen hit me -- perfect length as far as I am concerned, plus it didn't make my thighs look bigger. I have been looking for a jeans skirt for years and had the mistaken belief that a cheap one would smack me and all would be perfect. I decided I didn't want to wait another decade so I decided to pay up for figure flattery even though it cost more than the lined Halogen skirt.

The J. Crew number 2 pencil skirt in double serge wool is the most flattering pencil skirt I've ever seen. I like it better than the Halogen skirt. The fabric will be out of season soon, but I encourage you to try it anyway. There are limited sizes and colors remaining and unfortunately it's on final sale now:

With the current promo, it's about the same price as the halogen skirt. Sizing is similarly large (i.e. I took the same size in this skirt as in the Halogen seamed skirt).

I feel so guilty for twisting your arm on the gray one. It's on my outfit lineup for tomorrow. I'd also like to try some non knit ones. I might try J Crew because I have a double cloth skirt that I really like from them, it's not a pencil - more like a tulip.

I bought 2 denim pencil skirts from Coldwater Creek, on sale for only $17 each (incl. shipping). They fit great, only that they're not dark denim. That's okay by me, as they'll only be for casual wear.

I also just ordered the NYDJ "Ellen" long denim skirt in size 6P. It was a splurge (not on sale), but I really want a dark denim long skirt, and I like the look of this one. I'm hoping it will fit as nicely as the NYDJ jeans I recently ordered. For anyone who's interested, the regular size of this same skirt is on sale at both Zappos and 6PM.com. I just didn't want to go through the hassle and expense of having the regular size hemmed, and I knew it would have to be shortened considerably. I opted to order from Zappos for easy return, in case I need a different size.

I'd just like to wear more skirts and less pants, particularly in summer. Also, I thought about the next time my DH and I go to Nicaragua. It's so hot down there, yet the women do not wear pants unless they're long (not even capris). I figure the denim skirts will serve 3 purposes: (1) I won't be wearing pants, (2) the denim is not going to fly up when the wind blows, and (3) denim is easy care and goes with anything.

I'm actually looking for non-denim pencil skirts, as I want something a bit dressier for church.

I'm verrrrry close to just ordering the seamed Halogen pencil skirt in black...it just seems like such a staple, and the price is not bad...
