Best tops to hide a mushy post baby tummy

Hi i had a little baby boy a week ago and sick of getting comments if there is another baby still in there. I was wondering if anyone had tips on tops that hide a tum but not boxy or t shirt looking as my top half is larger then my bottom half and can so easily look blocky and manly as im 5"9 tall i was a rectangle pre pregnancy and my bottom half is still pretty much the same just with the over flow from the waist upwards thanks everyone

Nice to see you again Shaz! Congratulations on your new baby!

I found tops that skimmed were the best after having a baby. Empire just made me feel still pregnant. I wore a lot of tank tops with a fluid shirt or button down over top.

Congratulations on your baby boy.

Advice for dressing an apple body shape (excellent blog post here) is probably a good route for you.

I would also consider preparing a few phrases that will show the other side in a polite, yet non-negotiable manner that their comments are unwelcome and tasteless. There are plenty of topics on the forum on that subject, if you have time.

People can be so rude...ugh! Empire tops, I think, can also contribute to the pregnancy look. I would size up on the drapey styles that are so prevalent now. And be patient...your tummy will shrink in the next few weeks!

Good advice here about checking out the tips for adorable apples. I'd like to add this: loose linen knit tops are the ticket. Linen knits tend to drape better than cotton -- they have a little more weight and swing -- and glide over the body rather than cling, and they don't look boxy. I've seen quite a few linen blends this season, too, which cuts down on creasing. (But truth be told, I don't have too much trouble with 100% linen knit tops and creasing). And "fluid fit" (read: loose) tops are everywhere this season. You're in luck!

I agree with Aquamarine about avoiding Empire waist tops. They scream pregnancy.

I second StaceyMcGill. You just had a baby! Tell them to back off. Seriously. I am angry on your behalf, and if anyone said that to me, I'd hand them their heads.

Do whatever is most comfortable for you, and enjoy your precious baby boy.
