So I'm out of town and in a bit of a bind. I was invited to a cocktail thing I want to look nice for (business casual setting), and currently my most appropriate clothes are a light blue gingham shirt with three ties I can borrow. My understanding is that solid is usually the best to go with, but as it happens none of these are.

While I'm at it, pants options are Levi's 511s in rigid dragon color or slightly loose slacks.

Any suggestions?
