I have a couple of pairs of pants that need hemming. Being the odd height that I am (5’2” with longish legs), I am usually too tall for petite pants, and too short for regulars. And being hard to fit for pants in general, I buy anything that actually fits me and then worry about hemming once I have the right fit.
Measuring myself (which may not be the most accurate way to go) my inseam is 29” with no shoes or very flat ballet flats. The inseam goes up to 31” with 3” heels. That doesn’t seem right, since you’d think 3” heels would add 3” of height, but that’s beside the point.
What I am wondering is what inseam length I should look for in stores that have a variety of inseams. Is 30”, 31”, or 32” easier to find? Or does it depend on the store and brand? I suppose I should just buy what fits and have it hemmed, like I’ve done in the past. My real questions are these: Should I pick one heel height for all of my heels that I wear with pants? Should I base the choice of my inseam length on the heel height I am most comfortable wearing? The problem is that I wear both 2 and 3 inch heels, and I can’t wear the same pairs of pants with both heel heights. Having one pair of heels to go with a pair of pants sounds rather boring to me, but if it’s the price I have to pay for PPL, I suppose I could do it.
As always, any suggestions are appreciated. I’m still fairly new to all of this and love learning from you more experienced ladies.
Thanks so much.
