What was your best Christmas present ever? Who was it from? And was it an item you can wear -- either clothing or a fashion accessory?

We were wrapping gifts last night, and reminiscing about Christmases past. The year our second child was born, my husband took me completely by surprise with a really beautiful diamond ring. At the time of our wedding, I thought diamonds were a frivolous waste of money, and said so. But then of course, several years later, I wished I'd let him buy me one, frivolous waste of money or no. But I felt silly, so I didn't say much about it.

I think what made it the best gift ever was that it was totally unexpected and unhoped-for, and yet my husband was sensitive enough to guess how much I wanted it.

All of my other favourite gifts have also been items that I can wear. Mostly shoes and boots, come to think of it, although my long leather coat is high on the list, too. I'm not sure what that says about me, haha.
