Bell sleeves, bright florals, dress as tunic-Kari does maximalism

I’ve been ogling this floral bell sleeved Eliza J dress for months hoping it would go on sale and once it did, I snagged it during Nordstrom’s recent triple points day. It is not one of my primary colors and is on the sweet side for where my style is today, but I love it. The bright florals make me happy and there are olive accents. It has a neat low scoop-back detail that I love, too.

Here are some different wears:

1. With an olive moto jacket and burnt orange heels, rose gold pendant necklace and crossbody bag.
(Lucy was munching on a cookie and photobombed me.)

2. As a tunic, mesh long sleeved top and dark coated cropped jeans with navy wedges and the same rose gold accessories. (This was a great way to make sure I was prepared for chilly weather and a warm indoor brew festival.) It was my attempt at maximalism and Angie’s tunic and pants suggestion. (I can’t find the blog post to link it to-maybe it was on the forum?)

3. Simple, on its own with the orange heels.

It's a really pretty dress, I love all three outfits, although I might be partial to 1 and 3 because of those gorgeous orange shoes.

So sweet and cute! You did well to snatch it. And how lovely with the orange pumps and olive jacket. I like it best as a dress, although I must say it works quite well as a tunic too. What do you feel about belting it as a tunic? There is something about the proportions (when worn over pants) that would make me want to either segment the waist, for some reason (tunic's length?). Or maybe try it with booties instead of delicate ballerinas. As a dress, it's a completely different story because of your cute legs. It changes the dress's balance.

This is a great dress on you and well done on stalking it and getting it on sale. Whilst it may be outside of your normal style, it works beautifully in your wardrobe. I love it with the orange pumps.

Fantastic dress. You always make impeccable choices in purchases and styling. I like way in the first and third pictures the dress is more traditional looking while in the second look, with the leggings and flats, less conventional. Which extends the different places you can take this dress.

Thanks! You know, I’m actually liking the waist-surrendering of #2, but I did wear it with tights and black boots too (no pic) for an evening concert. Good thing too, as we had a chilly wait outside in the hail! I love the conventional prettiness of #3 but it was great to play with alternatives, especially making it work with variable temperatures.

One other thing: I notice most times I post a pair of round-toed heels they are called “flats” when they actually boost me up 2”! Not just these shoes, but others too. Funny how toe shape skews perception. Round toes play best with my foot shape, and funny thing is for me, these ARE like flats-totally flat shoes often cause more rubbing/blisters on my sensitive heels, and 1.5-2” usually raises my heel just enough to relieve that pressure point. I’m very glad it’s easier to find lower heels.
