Bell bottoms?

I did a massive updating in my closet today and found no less than 2 dozen pairs of bell bottoms! I'm donating a few to the Salvation Army but there are some that still fit nicely and were rather expensive jeans, what should I do with them? Are bell bottoms even acceptable gear nowadays? Should I hold on to them in case they come back instyle?

If they look great on you, perhaps try wearing updated tops and footwear with them and see what you think.

I'm with columbine. If you love them, keep them! Would you be willing to take a pair or 2 to a tailor and see if you can adjust them to either a boot cut or straight leg?

I would keep them. They are so cool. Perhaps check out free people website for styling ideas. Lots of flares there.

I think they are a fun shape. Even if you don't want them all as bell bottoms, some might make good cut offs.

Oh geez did I call them bell bottoms lol? I meant bootcut. I guess I'm not seeing any boot cut pants out there on the streets (of NYC) anymore. Everyone is wearing skinny and straight pants and those cute slouchy pants - which I can't wear because I'm a pear shape!

So I think I'll hang on to them for a bit, maybe even wear a few as a tester. When I used to wear them a few years ago I wore them with a heel. Is that what we're still doing these days?

It really depends on how they fit- which should be current - on the roomy side of tailored. Bootcuts are making a comeback, actually. Two years now - mentioned in my seasonal trend reports.

Heels look best with bootcuts - and a reason I personally don't wear them as often as I'd like to. Plus they get so soggy in our weather.

Did you have 24 pairs stashed away in a holding zone?

They've been tucked away at the bottom of my closets, I had no idea I had so many. I've been doing a closet purge and I was shocked at how many there were in there. Some were very old and not at all "current" so they had to go. But a few of them were really good in the fit and the feel.

I'm going to see if any would make good cut offs.
I wish there was room for "roomy side of tailored" but that's close to impossible to find in a pant for a pear shape like me lol.
