Sorry to have disappeared - we painted my office and being amateurs, we have had to do a lot of touch ups since, mainly on the baseboards. And don’t ask about the ceilings… You will see the detritus still laying about in my mirror photos (all dried up by then, I assure you).
Here is the end of the no jeans challenge. Two of the days were basically spent in pairing dungarees, which I will spare you:
1. J Crew top, LOFT palazzo pants
2. J Crew shirt, Athleta pants
3 Madewell shirt and pants
4 Boden dress (surprise surprise)
The challenge ended after May 31. The weather the following week was mild on some days and I added jeans back. Here is what I learned:
1. I don’t have a ton of midweight, non-jean pants options. I could stand to add some but really, the shoulder season for such items is short. Especially in spring. I already have midweight pants in my preferred neutral colors, and recent added some pink ones, so I am not sure an extensive search is worth it. I’ll keep an eye out! Lots of earth tones this year, which don’t usually do it for me, alas, aside from olive. And I’m covered for olive. (I did order the same palazzo pants as these black ones, in a sage green, but this is more of a summer item.)
2. I need to switch it up from jeans - as I suspected. When I’m back in the office, skirts and dresses will be more of an option in mild weather than they are this year. For now, I’m aiming for twice a work week until it’s too hot for them—which it already is on some days!
