I thought I'd taken more photos, but I guess with the fires and heat wave, I didn't. I'm a bit discombobulated. Here's my report anyway. Today the light has a yellowish cast, but it's chillier than yesterday. I checked in with my sisters--they are okay but also have orange air. We're all far from fires at the moment. I hope the colder air will lessen the chance of new fires for a while.
I bought the Wit & Wisdom gray jeans. I love gray jeans, but not many around this year. They are a bit big, but I was afraid to get the next size smaller. I bought the Kut from the Kloth leopard jeans as well. These are both higher waisted, which I've been longing for, but now I'm not so sure. I thought if I could only have a waistband to hang over my hipbones I wouldn't have the sliding down problem on my long torso. Not working so far. I'll still have to wear a belt with them.
I like the Kendra Scott earrings--silver tone but a bit different. And although I have several pairs of green earrings, I bought the Kate Spade anyway. I like them because they are sparkly, whereas my other ones are more opaque. I'm wearing both pairs.
I wanted the leopard print VC skirt but it was out of stock the first day. After hesitating I got it in black, thinking that if I do need/want a black dress, this would work. My old VC skirts were workhorses. I also got the Halogen ls cotton sweaters in dark red and leopard print and the Halogen cashmere scarf in the red. I also bought a belt, the Tumi small cross body bag, and a belt. I'll do the Finds later. I also bought two of the lace Rive Gauche Chantelle bras in blue. And some Chantelle undies in various colors.
You've seen the red Gibson jacket, which I love and could wear today.
I sent back the Ecco booties in wine. They were too narrow across the ball of the foot and too tight in the ankle. They weren't available in the larger size in wine, and the next size up tends to be a little big on me anyway. And it looks like I won't be needing it for snow, unless we have a nuclear (firestorm) winter. I did buy, not on sale, a pair of wine Mephisto sneakers that are supposed to arrive today.
Last photo is from Stanford (taken by Michael McFaul, sorry Mike, my phone filtered out the orange) at around noon and this is what it looked like here, 25 miles to the south. Then it got even darker orange.
