After what I considered a stumble yesterday in the being me department, I am back on track. (Yesterday's outfit wasn't bad, just didn't feel 100% me for some reason - missing an element or something.)

Tonight, after work, my in-laws are in town and taking us to dinner and an opera. That is less fancy than it sounds! The dinner is moderate, and the opera is at Brooklyn Academy of Music, not the Met. (Not that I dress up for the nosebleeds I sit in at the Met, anyway. Opera is long! Gotta be comfortable.) Anyway, we're going because my MIL is an opera historian, and we're seeing a composer she's an expert on. I thought it would be nice to dress a little, since my in-laws likely will.

But I gotta be me, so I'm wearing bright red, and a skirt with a motif. I do LOVE a skirt with a motif, and a midi, to boot. I used to have a lot more skirts with fun prints, but many ended up orphans so I'm stricter about them, but this was a no-brainer purchase because I can always pair it with black or red knits. The sweater is a red mock neck, and I'm definitely into that silhouette at the moment. I also love midis with tall boots.

So, overall, this is very me today.

NB: I even put on makeup, since I'm going out later.

ETA - bonus weekend shots of outfits worn for some museum going. Plus what my makeup looks like, when I do it!
