Beauty sites for the over 50 crowd?

Anyone have any good suggestions for sites focusing on hair and
beauty for the over 50 crowd. I have noticed big changes in skin and
coloring this last year. I suppose because my skin is changing to match
what would have been natural silver hair but because I color it still,
things don't really work together. I had to lighten up from my normal very dark winter hair color to a lighter version and start coloring my eyebrows. This is all so new to me. And so if anyone has suggestions for wear to read up on how to take care of the skin, hair, and so on, plus makeup tips for the over 50 crowd, I would appreciate it.

This is my favorite beauty site because she does not advertise nor promote. She covers all ages and has very good advice. Her videos are very professional because she is a professional.

This is a great question. I didn't know the skin changed as well as hair...

Do you take enough iron? Anemia is common in older adults, especially women. I was diagnose with it last year, to my surprise. Then I've been taking the supplements and it changed a lot of things for me: skin rosier, better metabolism, hair + nails stronger, less hair loss, more energy, etc. I'd rule it out before anything else.

Interesting about the change in skin . . . I'm a few years behind you but am surprised at the gray eyebrows I find! Nobody told me lol.

I get great advice from here too- mainly affirmation that it is OK. to dress in an up-to-date way as a 50 plus. Even though I don't see many others IRL I can see them here 24/7

I love the vloggers on youtube. Wayne Goss, Jaclyn Hill and Makeup Geek are a few of my favorites. They are younger and therefore geared towards younger crowd but they have great tips and tricks. I have found their product suggestions to be spot on. I just have to tone down the looks based on my comfort level. For example, Jaclyn Hill has fair, dry skin, red/brown hair and green eyes (just like me only her 23 yr old self has no wrinkles). I can't wear the eyeliner and lashes like she does but her contour and highlight instructions work well for me. I also love that all of bloggers listed do reviews of both high end and drugstore makeup. Wayne just did a video on where to put your makeup dollars and great suggestions on what to save on. Check them out.

My experience is that one's body is constantly changing, so it's still lots of trial and error. Sensitivities and allergies pop up at any age. Hormones are a huge factor, involving more than just physical changes.

MakeupMLC on youtube is excellent. She is in her late 40's. I also recommend Sugarpuffandfluff. She is in the UK, but I believe she is polish.

I'm dismayed at the magazines now because their great claim to "age-appropriate" style and skin care tips is to do a piece called something like
"Beauty at Any Age--30's, 40's, 50's" and they are SO PROUD!

Whoops--falling off the cliff there soon; if you're in 60's, 70's, 80's you're out of luck!

MsGoldGirl over on YouTube often has some good tips, though she's well under fifty. It is hard, although, I've been pleased to find so many, many women blogging on fashion who are um, mature! Oh, look at UppiesBeads on YouTube, too. Wayne Goss has done some great tutorials for mature faces, and his mentor, Eve Pearl, is on YouTube too.

My revelation was that doing my eyebrows is de rigeur now. My mom was really never much for makeup, so I'm self-taught, and I don't always NOTICE things like that. I DO use moisturizer religiously since about age 40 tho. Yes, our female bodies are still mysterious in a lot of respects and the best thing is to be somewhat conscious of your own "normal" and try to track changes.

I gave up powder eye shadows for about 5 years, but I'm learning I can still use powder if I prime my eyelids right! I look lots better with my eyes made up, too (imho)
