Beautiful blouse or PJ Top?

Hi Fabbers

So while browsing a South African clothing site for fun I came across this PJ Top and immediately thought 'Wow this could be such a fabulous blouse'. Am I losing the plot in the depths of winter or do you agree? I know this brand and it will be beautifully finished, ie. not flimsy.

I am a little torn, actually. The piping on the collar in the front definitely says pajamas to me, but I would be interested to see what that lovely neutral color looked like with an equally neutral pant, like ivory linen perhaps.

Why restrict yourself to the store's definitions? If you wear it out it is a blouse, to sleep it is pjs!

I think it's a gorgeous piece! It does read "pj top" to me (the piping and the shape of the collar), BUT, pajama style tops that are *intended* to be worn as blouses are a thing, so I say go for it! I think the sophisticated neutral color will help it blend in well out of the bedroom.

Loved Truworths is the '90s! Shopped there a lot

I vote pretty pyjama top, Star! Not a blouse. The lace trim, colour, and jacquard fabric seal the deal - although the piping does not!

Looks like PJs to me Star, sorry! BTW I see it is spelt “pyjama” with a y on the website- which is how I spell it. But some spell it “pajama”?

Thanks Ladies for taking the time to comment. Now I am not actually going to buy it or wear it. Just musing. I love to hear your musings, then I get to know you all a bit better:).

Angie If I lived in SA today I would shop at Truworths, I think their quality has remained consistent. I still look at their site; window shopping and for inspiration. I must respectfully say your example of a PJ Blouse totally reminds me of a pucker pyjama top that I would not wear outside ;). I know it looks fab on some though.
Roberta yes - I think I am equally drawn to the colour. It will look amazing with ivory. I thrifted a velvet T in a similar colour on Sunday.

JenniNz this spelling thing must be another example of US English and UK English, as SarahD8 correctly noted. It is a gorgeous piece, isn't it SD8. Surprised I am drawn to it as it is totally out of my style preference, I think the colour is the big draw card for me.

There are matching shorts too, now that would be cute FOR SLEEPING
