Beach chic or hide under the blanket?

I'm heading to Long Island next week to visit a dear friend. I thought these wrap pants would be nice to wear en route to the beach/poolside. Perhaps they could even take the place of my maxi for an oceanside dinner? They probably aren't everyone's cuppa, but they do appeal to my boho side.

Sorry about the poor lighting in some of the photos - the wrap pants have a grayish undertone IRL. Hair and make-up are not done either, so if you say "Hide under the blanket!" I'll understand

I had some hope since you mentioned boho... but really think you'd do better with wide leg linen pants.

Love them definitely with a tucked top. I think shortening your torso allows the pants to be the star and does not force the top to try to compete with such a dramatic statement. I really like the tanks with these pants and think that with boho/beachy accessories you'll look boho polished. May I suggest gold oversized hoops (not too big - but not too small) and an arm full of bangles?

I really love these pants they put me in the mind of something that Caro might wear. My favorite combos are with the teal tank and the coral tank. Above all definitely tuck! Have fun!

I liked pic #1 on the left side, and the tanks in pic #2. I liked the hemline...the soft fabric..oh well, I guess I am off to find some linen pants that don't wrap..

Wait a sec...I just saw Day Vies' post...score one for my side! I like your suggestions, too! I have bangles and I have hoops for stylin'!

I like them! Dare to be different, especially appropriate at the beach. You have a lot of options for tops, but for another idea I'd consider pairing them with something nautical like a mesh sweater, boatneck. They go great with the shoes you chose.

In general these look too stiff to me and the length seems off. A little longer or shorter I think I would like them more.

I say if you are wearing them JUST because they are comfy then pass. If they are comfy and you LOVE them then keep.

I like them, too! I prefer the top tucked in, and I also find that they suit your lean figure very well. DV's styling advice sounds very interesting. You can definitely wear these for dinner, too, in a casual setting.

I love them with the tank tops. They're so Round Hill Jamaica. I'd do a flat sandal with them.

I think you could do better. In the pics the fabric looks really stiff - not flowing, like I think of when I think of beach or pool wear/wraps. Also, the length isn't quite right - they're neither maxi, ankle, cropped, etc. - like they can't make up their mind. They also look pretty bulky around the waist - they just don't lay very nicely. I think they're just too much for your thin/smallish frame. I'd pass on these!

I vote pass on these. I think you can find something with a similar feel that looks more modern. These look dated to my eye -- something about the length -- and the fabric reminds me of curtains. How about some beautiful wide-leg linen pants?

The fabric is actually very soft and not stiff at all. They have a tulip hem and are supposed to hit at the ankle. They don't fall open at all. My trip is probably going to be postponed another week so I'll have a little more time to think it over. They are also available in white, but I was afraid of the see-through factor.
